Pertamina Patra Niaga Tests LPG Cylinders with UPTD Legal Metrology in Purwakarta and Subang

Purwakarta/Subang, May 31, 2024 - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga West Java Region, through the Karawang Sales Area, has strengthened its synergy with the Technical Implementation Unit for Legal Metrology (UPTD) of Purwakarta and Subang Regencies to enhance the supervision of LPG cylinder contents. It was done by conducting random inspections of the quantity and quality of 3 kg LPG cylinders at the LPG Filling and Transportation Stations (SPPBE) in Purwakarta and Subang Regencies on Wednesday (May 29).

The random inspections in Purwakarta Regency at two SPPBEs, namely Sehaja Gasindo SPPBE and Darma Kumala SPPBE, sampling 80 cylinders of 3 kg LPG each, by the Pertamina Patra Niaga Retail Sales Area Karawang team along with the Legal Metrology UPTD of Purwakarta Regency. Meanwhile, in Subang Regency, it was carried out at Linggajati Ekakarsa SPPBE with the Legal Metrology UPTD of Subang Regency and the National Oil and Gas Entrepreneurs Association (Hiswana Migas) Subang Branch.

Achmad Rifqi, Karawang Sales Area Manager, reported that the inspections showed that the quantity and quality of LPG cylinders follow the regulations.

"The results of the inspections at the three SPBBE comply with the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia," Rifqi said.

Separately in Jakarta, Eko Kristiawan, Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR, West Java Regional Office of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, stated that regular SPPBE supervision activities are to ensure that the LPG distributed quantity and quality to the public meet the applicable standards, namely the Regulation of the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia No. 31/M-DAG/PER/10/2011 dated October 13, 2011, regarding Prepackaged Goods.

"Anticipating the presence of residue or gas remnants in LPG cylinders that affect the filling amount continues to be addressed at each filling station to prevent measurement errors that could disadvantage consumers and the public," Eko explained.

He added that the supervision of LPG cylinder filling at SPPBE and SPBE is carried out regularly in each sales area to ensure the metrology devices are active. Eko also mentioned that the synergy with related parties, especially the Legal Metrology UPTD in each sales area, continues to ensure the LPG cylinder measurements accuracy for the public.

"We hope this synergy can be continuously enhanced so that Pertamina can always provide the best service to the public and consumers are not disadvantaged by inaccurate measurements," Eko added.

Furthermore, Pertamina Patra Niaga will impose administrative sanctions up to the operating license revocation for SPBBE and SPPBE that do not comply with the applicable regulations.

Meanwhile, Corporate Secretary Pertamina Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting, stated that Pertamina Patra Niaga will continue to enhance synergy with the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) not only in supervision but also in system improvements to ensure the smooth distribution of 3 kg LPG from SPBE to the public.
