Pertamina Put Forth the Effort to Extinguish the Refinery Tank Fire Incident at the Balongan Refinery

Balongan, March 29, 2021 - After an incident in Pertamina Balongan Refinery which caused a fire on T-301G tank on March 29, 2021 that started around 00.45 at night, Pertamina Balongan Refinery HSSE Team along with the Indramayu District Fire Service focus on extinguishing fires in the refinery tank area located in Balongan Village, Indramayu Regency, Java

The caused of incident is yet cannot be determined and currently is still on investigation process by the authority

Currently, a normal shutdown is being carried out to control the flow of oil and prevent the expansion of fires.

Pertamina has prepared a place for evacuation and temporary evacuation for local residents in the Sport Center (GOR)  for Bumi Patra Housing, Pendopo, and Indramayu Regency Islamic Center.

Pertamina asked local residents to remain calm, and stay away from the location of the fire. When the incident occurred, five residents were passing by. Therefore, they suffered burns and were immediately taken to intensive care at Indramayu Hospital. Currently, the road blocking to the vicinity of the incident is being carried out, assisted by the military (TNI).

With this incident, Pertamina ensures that fuel supplies to the community are not disrupted and is currently still running normally.**
