Pertamina Put The Environmental Restoration of Affected Resident as Top Priority

Balikpapan - Pertamina continues the restoration of oil spill affected areas in Balikpapan Bay. President Director of Pertamina Elia Massa Manik said on environmemt restoration on oil spill activity in Kampung Atas Air, Margasari, Balikpapan Barat, Balikpapan on Thursday, April 12th, 2018.

Massa manik emphasizes on the environmental restoration of affected communities by promoting Health, Safety and Environment aspects.

“We work hard to resolve the impacts of this disaster, especiallu the impacts on the environment and society. We are grateful to the community for cooperating with Pertamina in handling this disaster,” said Massa Manik.

In addition to environmental clean-up activities, Massa Manik also reviewed the development plan of worship places, integrated health post (posyandu), and sport facilities for the community. After socializing with the residents, Massa Manik also inspected the Pertamina’s health post.

As a form of Pertamina's concern for the affected citizens, Pertamina has conducted various social activities for the affected people since the disaster occurred.

Social and environmental activities carried out in Margasari, Damai, Kampung Baru Tengah, Kampung Baru Ulu, Kariangau, and Penaham include the establishment of health posts, masks distribution, environmental cleanup programs, and supplying aid and compensation.

"Not only environmental care activities, Pertamina also ensure the safety aspects of the environment by conducting air test periodically", he added.
