Pertamina Quickly Ensures Communities Around the Tank are in Safe Condition

Cilacap, November 13, 2021 - Regarding the incident that occurred in one of the tanks in Cilacap Refinery area, Central Java on Saturday (11/13), Pertamina is currently making a maximal effort to extinguish the fire with defensive fire fightingusing fire trucks and hydrants as well as coolers in the area around the burned tank.

To ensure the community is in a safe condition, Pertamina swiftly evacuated about 80 residents from Lomanis Village to a temporary shelters in Lomanis Village Hall and Baitul Munir Mosque, Lomanis.

The Cilacap refinery is one of 6 Pertamina refineries with a processing capacity of 270 thousand barrels per day. This refinery has 228 tanks to hold to be processed crude, gas as well as fuel from crude oil processing.**
