Pertamina Receives Another International Award, Demonstrating Sustainability Commitment

Jakarta, April 7, 2022 – Pertamina maintains its achievements at the International award event for reporting the leading Sustainability Report at the Asian level last April 4 in Singapore. At this year's Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA), Pertamina won another Bronze Award for Asia's best SDGs Reporting category. Through the “Adapt” theme in its Sustainability Report, Pertamina also managed to become a finalist in another category, Asia's Best Community Impact Reporting.

"Pertamina's sustainability report demonstrates its commitment to high-quality reporting on how the company can manage material sustainability issues and contribute to sustainable development," said Rajesh Chhabara, Managing Director of CSWorks and founder of ASRA.

Previously at the 2020 ASRA, Pertamina also won a Bronze Award for the Asia's Best SDG Reporting category and was a finalist in two other categories, namely Asia's Best Community Reporting and Asia's Best Sustainability Report Digital for the 2019 Sustainability Report. This achievement proves that Pertamina continues to innovate and focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) implementation in all aspects of the company to achieve the SDGs' global goals.

"This award shows that Pertamina's sustainability commitments have been recognized by credible institutions at the international level," said Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman.

ASRA is an annual event organized by CSRWorks, an independent international sustainability agency in Singapore. This year, there were 585 entries from 14 countries included in 17 categories, and only 73 companies from 14 countries made it to the final.

Judging was done by professionals in the sustainability field such as the British High Commission Singapore, British Chamber of Commerce Singapore, Embassy of Sweden Singapore, French Chamber Singapore, Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development, and others. In addition to assessing the quality of the report, the judging process also involves comprehensive due diligence that considers the company's reputation among its stakeholders.

The award ceremony was attended by more than 250 senior business leaders and sustainability practitioners from 16 countries. The attendees are officials from academia, embassies, trade associations, and advocacy organizations.
