Jakarta, August 10, 2021 – Pertamina's Sustainability Report has successfully entered the top 10 at the International 14th Annual Corporate Register Reporting Award (CRRA) 2021 in two categories, namely Credibility through Assurance (Top 5) and Best ESG Report (Top 8) announced last July.
CRRA is an annual award given to assess corporate publications globally. CRRA was first organized in 2007 and is managed by Corporate Register Limited, the world's largest online directory of registered companies and sustainability reporting websites.
This year's 14th CRRA was attended by 73 world-class companies across Europe, Asia, Australasia, North America, South America, and Africa, including Softbank, SK Gas Co, Verizon Communication, and others. There are 142 entries in this event. The winners were selected through a voting system, which was opened for 65,000 Corporate Register users.
According to Acting SVP Corporate Communication and Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, this award acknowledges Pertamina's achievements as a national energy company in compiling a Sustainability Report related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Issues.
"Pertamina is the only Indonesian company on the CRRA award list. It has become an encouragement for Pertamina to improve the quality of ESG/Environmental, Social, and Governance aspects implementations in the company's operations. It is also a motivation to move forward and become a world-class oil and gas company with a revenue target of USD 100 billion," said Fajriyah.
Pertamina is also listed as the only Indonesian company in the 2021 Fortune Global 500 list. With a company revenue value of USD 41.47 billion in the 2020 financial year, Pertamina is in position 287.
The Fortune Global 500 ranking is an annual event conducted by Fortune magazine since 1955. The main benchmark is the amount of revenue, including consolidated gross revenues. Other indicators are shareholder equity participation, market capitalization, profits, number of employees, and since 1990 the company's country of origin indicator is also considered in the Fortune Global 500.
In the energy sector, several international oil companies are included in the 2021 Fortune Global 500 ranking, including BP (18), Royal Dutch Shell (19), Exxon Mobile (23), Chevron (75), and Petronas (277). Several companies that are below Pertamina's ranking include Repsol at position 381, while from other industries, there are Coca-Cola (370), Tesla (392), and Danone (454).
