Pekanbaru, August 4, 2022 – A total of 53 youth from Riau officially joined PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) Rokan Working Area (WK). They were selected among more than 2,000 people who passed the administrative stage to take the written test last March, out of 10,000 applicants for this Fixed Time Worker (PWT) vacancy.
The Welcoming and Opening PWT New Employee Orientation event took place at the Rumbai PHR Complex, Pekanbaru, on Tuesday (2/8). This activity was attended by the President Director of PHR, Jaffee A Suardin, the Governor of Riau, Syamsuar, the Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Service, Imron Rosyadi, and the Head of the SKK Migas Representative Office of Sumbagut, Rikky Rahmat Firdaus.
"Thank you to PHR for giving the opportunity to Riau's youth. Please guide our youths to make an optimal contribution and be a motivation for others," said Governor of Riau, Syamsuar, in his speech. Syamsuar also encourages PWTs to show achievements through hard work, willingness to learn, and always follow directions.
In this experienced worker recruitment, new employees will fill positions in the Drilling team, and the Health, Environment, and Safety team. "The PWT recruitment specifically for Riau's youth is a form of PHR's commitment to improving local human resources quality so that Riau's best sons and daughters can contribute to the Rokan WK development," said Director of PHR, Jaffee A Suardin.
The position fulfillment is prioritized for local workers with an ID card or Riau Birth Certificate or graduates from universities in Riau.
The operation of Rokan WK is currently supported by more than 25,000 workers, of which the majority are local Riau residents, both PHR employees and work partners' employees.
Meanwhile, SKK Migas welcomed PHR's move to open vacancies and accept Riau's youth to work in the Rokan Block. "SKK Migas strongly supports young local workers recruitment to support efforts in achieving the national production target and the 1 million barrels per day by 2030 target together," said Rikky Rahmat Firdaus.
Muhammad Hanafi from the Duri area was one of the PWTs accepted to join PHR Rokan WK. He said he was happy and proud to be joining Pertamina.
"We are very proud to be part of Pertamina's big family at Rokan WK," said Hanafi, an alumnus of Hang Tuah College of Health Sciences, Pekanbaru. The same thing was conveyed by Nurul Diana, an alumnus of Caltex Riau Polytechnic (PCR), who was born in Pekanbaru.
PHR manpower needs are currently focused on field operations to support the 400-500 new wells drilling target achievement this year and the national oil and gas production target of 1 million barrels and gas of 12 billion standard cubic feet per day by 2030. New PWT employees will be immediately placed and carry out work in the field with the existing workers.
For this reason, applicants need to have sufficient work experience to work safely and contribute optimally.
The employee recruitment implementation at various locations in Pertamina's operational areas, for both Indefinite Time Worker (PWTT) and PWT, is managed by PT Pertamina (Persero) or Pertamina's head office. Job vacancies opening within Pertamina are adjusted to the Company's operational needs.
PHR provides wide opportunities for Riau's best youth to contribute to the Rokan WK development. As a world-class national company, PHR certainly needs the best and professional talents' support so that this oil and gas wealth becomes a blessing that brings prosperity to the surrounding community and Indonesia.**
