Pertamina Renjana Cita Srikandi: The Rise of Indonesian Women

Jakarta, May 20, 2024 - PT Pertamina (Persero) is committed to promoting Indonesian women's empowerment. This commitment was demonstrated through the Pertamina Renjana Cita Srikandi event, held at The Dome Senayan Park, Jakarta, on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Nicke Widyawati, President Director of Pertamina, stated that this grand festival of women's empowerment is a testament to Pertamina's commitment to supporting and advancing women’s roles in various fields. In line with the tagline "Energizing You, Elevating Each Other", she believes this event can serve as a milestone for creating equality and empowering Indonesian women, equipping them with strong and beneficial skills for their communities.

"I hope that through Pertamina Renjana Cita Srikandi, Indonesian women can commit to enhancing their competencies and collaborating, thus becoming excellent and characterful women at the global level, optimizing their role in sustainable and inclusive development," Nicke expressed.

Meanwhile, Emma Sri Martini, Director of Finance of Pertamina, added that through this event, Pertamina also aims to convey that the company is committed to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), one of which pertains to women's empowerment.

"As a corporation, Pertamina is committed to sustainable practices concerning the environment, social community, and good governance," Emma stated.

At the same event, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, emphasized Pertamina's commitment to enhancing women’s role in advancing the energy sector. According to him, this event also aligns with the 2024 National Awakening Day (Harkitnas) spirit, empowering women as the pillars of change for national development towards a prosperous Indonesia.

"This event also signifies Pertamina's support for Indonesian women to rise, improve their capabilities, and become Indonesia’s agents of change," Fadjar explained.

Fadjar further mentioned that this event aligns with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises' policy, which targets women to occupy 25% of strategic positions.

"At Pertamina, we are striving to achieve this 25% target through several strategies, one of which is the Pertiwi program, aimed at optimizing women's roles to become future leaders. Various strategic positions are already filled by women, including the President Director and Finance Director of Pertamina, as well as female directors in Sub-holdings and Subsidiaries," he elaborated.

Pertamina Renjana Cita Srikandi is an Indonesian women's empowerment festival themed "Energizing You, Elevating Each Other." This event aims to enhance Indonesian women's competencies while fostering collaboration among them to elevate their role globally.

The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including talk shows with competent speakers, MSME exhibitions, and performances by renowned artists.
