Jakarta, November 18, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially concluded the Pertamina Small Medium Enterprise Expo (SMEXPO) 2024, a hybrid marketing event showcasing products from Pertamina's fostered micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Carrying the theme ‘Local Goes Vocal’, the closing ceremony was held at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta, on Monday (11/18/2024). During the event, Pertamina also launched the SMEXPO app, complementing the website smexpo.pertamina.com as a showcase to broaden the market reach for its fostered MSMEs.
In his closing remarks, Vice President of Pertamina, Wiko Migantoro, emphasized MSMEs' crucial role as drivers of the national economy, contributing over 50% to the GDP and employing 97% of the workforce. Wiko noted that Pertamina has fostered approximately 66,000 MSMEs since 1993, with 32,000 active MSMEs.
"As a state-owned enterprise, Pertamina is committed to continuously empowering businesses around its operational areas to grow together," Wiko stated.
Corporate Secretary of Pertamina, Brahmantya Satyamurti Poerwadi, added that the Pertamina SMEXPO 2024 series, running since early March 2024, successfully generated over IDR 24 billion in transactions through activities such as on-site exhibitions in six cities, business meetings, and online transactions via the smexpo.pertamina.com marketplace.
These transactions include business matching activities where Pertamina SMEXPO 2024 facilitated connections between 35 selected MSMEs and 143 potential buyers from 17 countries, resulting in business meeting transactions worth IDR 15.9 billion—an increase of 17% compared to 2023.
Meanwhile, on-site exhibitions (retail and thematic) held in six cities attracted over 30,000 visitors, generating IDR 4.9 billion in transactions, a remarkable 116% increase from 2023. Enthusiasm for local MSME products is also reflected in the widespread SMEXPO digital marketplace platform usage, now featuring 1,261 MSMEs with over 3,000 products. Online transactions via the marketplace recorded sales of IDR 3.5 billion from January through October 2024.
"Besides expanding promotion and marketing, Pertamina SMEXPO 2024 has made tangible contributions to enhancing MSME capacity. Pertamina set a target to elevate 200 MSMEs to a higher level this year, a goal achieved by Q3 2024," Brahmantya explained.
To further expand the market potential for its fostered MSMEs, Pertamina officially launched the SMEXPO Marketplace mobile app. The app is designed to simplify consumer access to a wide range of high-quality products created by Indonesian MSMEs.
"Through SMEXPO, we aim to enhance the Indonesian society's positive perception toward local products, making them more prominent and competitive in domestic and global markets. We are optimistic that this program will have a lasting positive impact on MSME development," Brahmantya concluded.
Pertamina remains committed to ensuring SMEXPO continues to be an innovative program that enhances the quality and competitiveness of local MSMEs through collaborations with national and global corporations. The SMEXPO series is expected to expand market access, open partnership opportunities, and improve Indonesian MSME product capacity and branding on the international stage.
