Pertamina Supports 6,400 Children Affected by Covid-19 on Its 64th Anniversary

Jakarta, December 1, 2021 - Celebrating its 64th year, PT Pertamina (Persero) provided aid to 6,400 orphans from families affected by Covid-19 in Indonesia. 

The aids were given to over 1,500 children in Sumatra, 3,000 children in Java, 1,000 children in Kalimantan, 600 children in Sulawesi, and 300 children in Papua.

The aid was symbolically handed over by the Director of Human Resources (HR) of PT Pertamina (Persero), Erry Sugiharto, accompanied by Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina (Persero), Brahmantya Satyamurti Poerwadi, and President Director of Pertamina Foundation, Agus Mashud, Monday (29/11).

In addition to aid for children affected by Covid-19, Pertaminais collaborating with the Rosa Foundation to distribute education costs for children whose mothers passed away or are unable to work anymore due to female cancer (breast, cervix, and uterus).

"This educational aid is our concern for the fate of orphans who are victims of Covid-19. The aid is intended to support educational activities, so they can continue to attend school normally," said Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman.

Fajriyah added this activity is gratitude for Pertamina's achievements at the age of 64 years as an effort for a better tomorrow for Pertamina. Pertamina's consistency in this activity also encourages the practice of ESG and SDGs, especially in point 4 on ensuring inclusive and quality education and supporting learning opportunities for all.

"Pertamina's involvement and active role are not only in tackling Covid-19 in Indonesia but also supports children who are affected by the pandemic. Therefore, they still have the same opportunities in education," she concluded.**
