Jakarta, June 20, 2021 – The 2021 Pertamina UMK Academy event will soon be held. This activity, which is designed to help micro and small enterprises (MSEs) upgrade progressively, has become one of the most awaited events for Pertamina's fostered partners. Through the MSE Funding Program, Pertamina targets as many as 645 MSEs to be upgraded this year.
Many participants noted that the Pertamina UMK Academy in 2020 had a positive impact on their business. "Of course, those who pass are confirmed to have met at least 1 criterion as an upgraded MSE," explained the Acting Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman.
The criterion includes fostered partners getting certificates or business permits, an increase in workers, a production capacity increase, and an increase in turnover. Therefore, they can market their products abroad or Go Global. In 2020, Pertamina fostered 795 MSEs who managed to upgrade.
Fajriyah added that the event, which will be held from June to December 2021, will not only contain material and socialization. But it also involves direct assistance for fostered partners who wish to complete certificates and business permits. "Previously, we assisted 64 fostered who wanted trademark IPR certification and 24 partners for Halal certification," she added.
In addition, Pertamina also assisted several fostered in the Go Modern class, the majority of which were followed by MSEs from the Agriculture, Plantation, and Livestock sectors to procure business support tools. The support of effective modern technology is believed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the fostered partners' production.
Pertamina will choose and curate foster partners who are willing to participate in this event on its implementation. For that, Fajriyah advised MSEs who get this golden opportunity not to waste it and follow it to the end. "The results will be felt by them themselves, such as better business, more consumers, and other benefits after becoming an upgraded MSE," she said.
According to Fajriyah, through the MSE Funding Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can move the economy--energy that fuels and energy that produce sustainable growth.
Pertamina also supports SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) point 8 achievements through implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all of its operational areas. It is part of the environmental and social responsibility to realize economic benefits in the community.**
