Pertamina Upstream Subholding Receives 9 Gold Proper

Jakarta, December 29, 2021 - PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, a Subholding Upstream Pertamina, has received nine Proper Gold, an environmental management award from the Republic of Indonesia's Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

"We are grateful. Subholding Upstream managed to win nine Gold awards from the 2021 target of eight gold. There are three increases from 2020, which reached six gold," said Budiman Parhusip, President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi as Subholding Upstream Pertamina, Tuesday (28/12).

Budiman added that the nine gold awards won by Pertamina's Upstream Subholding this year came from PHE Jambi Merang, PEP Subang Field, PEP Tarakan Field, PEP Sanga Sanga Field, and JOB Pertamina-Medco Tomori.

In addition, PT Pertamina Hulu East Kalimantan (PHKT) Northern Operation Area (DOBU), PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) - BSP Field, PHM South Processing Unit Field and PT Badak NGL.

Budiman went on to say that Proper demonstrates Pertamina's commitment to environmental and social management in operational areas.

"We are very committed to maintaining the sustainability of the operational aspects, environmental, and social aspects. We need the environment and social support to operate in an area. It is an inseparable unit," he concluded.

Proper is an assessment program from the government regarding the company's performance in environmental management as regulated in the Minister of Environment Regulation Number 3 of 2014 concerning the Company's Performance Rating Program in Environmental Management which is carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry every year.

The Proper program is one of the flagship programs of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry since 2002. It aims to encourage company compliance in environmental management and encourage innovation in natural resource management and community empowerment around the company's operational areas.

Companies that get the Gold Proper predicate are considered to have carried out social and environmental responsibility activities above compliance.**
