Jakarta, April 17, 2021 - Indonesia, as the country with the largest Muslim population globally, strives to continue to be the world's center in the halal industry. Through the Partnership Program, PT Pertamina (Persero) also supports these efforts by assisting its fostered partners to get halal certification. Therefore, these micro and small enterprises (MSEs) will get more trust and become MSEs up in class.
It is applied to Pertamina's fostered partners, Ashfara Kreasi. Nirma Darningsih has arrived in the midst of people's worries about having halal and hygienic tauco, making it a promising business opportunity. With the Tauco Qu brand, this Jalan KUD Gedung Johor resident wants to make this home-based tauco more classy.
"We want to increase the value of the tauco, which is only IDR 2000 per pack. Sold in the market and tied with rubber, which we do not know where it is from, how the process is. It is changed to be more attractive and in packaging. Production, starting from the kitchen, we maintain the quality and lawful use materials," explained Nirma.
Nirma is the third generation that produces tauco. Initially, the tauco created decades ago was only for fulfilling the consumption of her extended family. "Grandmother taught her children to make tauco, like mak tuo, mak cik, my parents also made their own for consumption," she said.
The manufacturing process, called Nirma Tauco, is produced using natural fermentation, relying on room temperature. So that in the manufacturing process, it takes at least 45 days for the Medan Johor area. Currently, the business already has a halal certificate. "We also already have NIB/IUMK (Business Registration Number/Micro and Small Business License), Dinkes PIRT (Public Health Office Home Industry Food Production), and currently in process for BPOM (Food and Drug Administration)," she said.
Nirma admits that she uses online media such as the marketplace and Instagram for marketing. The products can also be found in several minimarkets around Medan. Tauco Qu has also been used as souvenirs and brought to several neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Agus Suprijanto, added that Pertamina would fully support the business as undertaken by Nirma. According to him, the existence of business certification will increase consumer confidence in products made by MSEs. "It can also measure that the MSE has upgraded," he said.
According to Agus, through the Partnership Program, Pertamina wants to provide the energy that drives the economy--energy that becomes fuel and energy that generates sustainable growth. It is also implementing SDGs, the 8th goal, to provide decent work and support economic growth.
Apart from SDGs, Pertamina also tries to implement Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) in the social sector. In this way, Pertamina is confident that it can consistently generate economic benefits in the community, following environmental and social responsibilities.**
