Netherlands, December 3, 2024 – The "Discovering The Magnificence of Indonesia" Tourism & Trade Expo in Utrecht, Netherlands, showcased Indonesia's natural wealth, cultural heritage, and flagship products internationally. Over four days, PT Pertamina (Persero) successfully highlighted its Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and innovative products made from pineapple fiber.
Through the "Pesona Subang" program, Pertamina promoted pineapple fiber as an eco-friendly innovation that captivated visitors and international partners. Products made from pineapple fiber, ranging from textiles to crafts like bags and wallets, demonstrated Indonesia's vast potential in creating sustainable and creative goods.
The exhibition in the Land of Windmills also introduced Pertamina's fostered tourist villages, offering unique travel destinations for international tourists. "Many visitors, including Dutch locals, appreciate Pertamina's support for local communities and environmental conservation through eco-tourism programs like mangrove and Proboscis monkey (Bekantan) conservation," said the Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso.
In addition, the participation of 21 Pertamina's foster MSMEs from various regions of Indonesia highlighted the local economy's growing strength. Through Pertamina’s mentorship and guidance, the exhibition recorded transactions exceeding IDR 5.7 billion, reflecting strong interest and competitiveness of MSME products in global markets. "This figure showcases Pertamina's successful MSME empowerment programs in enhancing local product global competitiveness," Fadjar added.
Fadjar noted the high interest from Dutch and European buyers during business matchmaking sessions and direct visits to Pertamina's booth. Many members of the Dutch diaspora also expressed serious interest in becoming resellers of products such as Bali Ayu beauty, Sanrah Food sambal, and Narita Shibori fashion products. Some even planned to visit the Sanrah Food production house in South Tangerang.
Fadjar extended his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the exhibition's success. "We are very proud of the positive responses from visitors, business players, and international partners. It demonstrates Indonesia's extraordinary potential for growth in tourism and trade," he said.
The event featured engaging activities such as cultural performances, interactive workshops, and business meetings, offering MSME participants significant opportunities to establish strategic partnerships.
"With the exhibition closing, we hope Indonesia’s flagship products, including pineapple fiber innovations, will gain greater global recognition, strengthening Indonesia’s image as a nation rich in culture and economic potential," Fadjar concluded.
