Jakarta, January 20, 2023 - Throughout the 2022 financial year, Pertamina's Subholding Upstream Java Region recorded a positive performance in oil production operations of 61,325 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) or equivalent to 118% of the target set in the Company's Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) and the achievement of oil lifting reached 61,533 BOPD. Meanwhile, gas production reached 387 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), or equivalent to 102%, where gas lifting reached 251 MMSCFD.
This achievement was achieved due to the optimal efforts made by Pertamina's Upstream Subholding Java Region's officers. First, increased drilling and rework activities as an effort to optimize existing wells. Second, increase production facilities' reliability. Third, the latest innovations' implementation.
To add to the discovery of the new resources, Pertamina's Upstream Subholding Java Region has drilled two exploratory wells. Namely, the GQX-1 exploration well in the PHE ONWJ and BJK-001 working areas in the West Java Pertamina EP area has proven capable of adding 114,054 MMBOE of contingent resources.
In managing oil and gas fields that have been producing for decades, a strategy is needed to maintain and restrain the decline rate of natural oil and gas content in reservoirs. The Java Region has drilled 26 development wells, 20 well workover activities, and maintenance of 670 well service wells have been completed and contributed additional hydrocarbons.
Wisnu Hindadari, as Director, said Pertamina's Subholding Upstream Java Regional would continue to strive for optimal performance in maintaining production and lifting and continuing exploration, development, and innovation activities to achieve the target in 2023. "This year, we have set an oil production target of 63,244 BOPD and gas production of 369.87 MMSCFD. Several strategic steps have been prepared, including accelerating discovery efforts through 3D seismic surveys along 80 KM2," said Wisnu.
