Denpasar, June 17, 2021 - PT Pertamina (Persero) has once again realized its commitment to support the development of startups among Indonesia's young generation through the "Pertamuda or Pertamina Muda - Seed & Scale Up" event.
High interest in startups encourages all campuses in Indonesia to equip themselves with business incubation institutions for their students. Therefore, through this youth entrepreneurship development program, Pertamina collaborates campuses with the industrial world.
"Pertamina as SOE, not only has carried out the mandate of improving business performance, seeking profit, and providing services to the community. But Pertamina also encourages the formation of new business developments that are pioneering in nature and the development of the MSME scale business sector," said Nicke Widyawati, President Director of Pertamina, during the launch of Pertamuda in Denpasar, Bali (17/6).
At the event, Nicke also motivated young people to compete and explore their creativity, innovation, and the best ideas for the energy sector business. According to her, the energy and other sectors in the world are undergoing a vast transition. Not only the type of energy, but the mechanism and pattern of cooperation, management stakeholders, and supply chain must be transformed.
"Let us show love for Indonesia. Because we have to do an energy transition, we need new ways, innovations, and brilliant ideas from young people," added Nicke.
The Pertamuda event will bring together hundreds of students with business ideas from several Indonesian state universities. Pertamina has invited 33 campuses in Indonesia to involve their students in this event.
It is hoped that the best generation of this nation, namely students from various campuses in Indonesia, will follow the event and then be curated into the best 50, to then be competed offline in Bali entitled "Demoday Pertamuda 2021".
The best three will get business capital to run their business ideas of IDR 100 million each. After the "First Demoday 2021", 50 participants will be monitored for ten months to monitor the development of their business ideas.
The Kick-Off Webinar Pertamuda 2021 presented several speakers, including Christian Sugiono (Co-Founder & CEO of cumi.id), Dian Onno (Social Innovation Activist), Arto Biantoro (CEO & Founder of Gambaran Brand), and Leonard Theosabrata (President Director of SMESCO).**
