Denpasar, July 1, 2021 – Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which still limits working outside the home, PT Pertamina (Persero) holds the Pertamuda Online Workshop Series as a commitment to supporting the development of startups in Indonesia.
The "Pertamuda or Pertamina Muda - Seed & Scale" program is the company's efforts to foster synergy between the industrial world and universities to achieve innovation and sustainable progress of the nation.
Acting Senior Vice President Corporate Communication & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, explained that the energy and other sectors in the world are undergoing a fast transition. Not only the type of energy but also the mechanism and pattern of cooperation, management stakeholders, and supply chain must be transformed. Through this Pertamuda event, Pertamina will bring together hundreds of students from various state universities throughout Indonesia with have business ideas.
"As part of its social responsibility and implementation of ESG, Pertamina is highly committed to developing the younger generation by exploring their potential and meeting the needs of the industry in the future," she said.
At the opening of the Online Workshop Series, Rifky Rakhman Yusuf, Manager of Non-Government Stakeholder Relations of PT Pertamina (Persero), explained that the online workshop series will take place four times. The first series will be held on (30/6/21) online via the Zoom platform, with the topic "Design Thinking: Turning Problems into Businesses."
The second series will raise the topic of "Understanding the Market and Capturing Consumers," which will be held on July 5, 2021. The Third Series on July 12, 2021, will discuss "Finding Products that Match Market Demand," especially regarding the value proposition Canvas, namely a tool that can help to know more about products or services, what are the needs of consumers so that we can create value for consumers according to their needs.
The fourth and closing of the Online Workshop Series will discuss "Designing a Business with the BMC Method" on July 16, 2021.
"We see high interest in the startup world. And almost all campuses in Indonesia today have equipped themselves with business incubation institutions for their students. Therefore, through this youth entrepreneurship development program, Pertamina collaborates campus and the industrial world," said Rifky.
Rifky added, students from various campuses in Indonesia who took part in the program were then curated into the best 50. They will later compete offline in Bali titled "First Demoday 2021".
The best three will get business capital to run their business ideas of IDR 100 million each. After the "First Demoday 2021," 50 participants will be monitored for ten months to monitor the development of their business ideas.**
