Jakarta, November 4, 2021 – Pertamina Patra Niaga, Sub Holding Commercial & Trading PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to encourage the acceleration of the Go Retail program as the company’s commitment toward one of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. The ESG initiative that is meant is to improve accessibility to energy for the community up to remote areas for all of the citizens.
In that initiatives, the smallest community also has to get easy access to experience clean and quality energy by involving the community in its implementation. Acting Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga SH C&T, Irto Ginting stated that this was realized by Pertamina Patra Niaga through the expansion of Pertashop network ensuring quality and environmentally friendly energy with affordable prices, namely Pertamax to be available to villages.
“It is in accordance with the mandate of the Energy Law No. 30 of 2007 so that we are not only maintaining adequate supply nationally but also providing equal easy access for all Indonesians. Through Pertashop, we actualize this, Pertamax is now available as a quality and environmentally friendly fuel with affordable prices for the community, the price is the same with the petrol stations in the city,” explained Irto.
Pertamax is one of Pertamina’s quality products with Research Octane Number (RON) of 92, Pertamax is the right fuel product for modern vehicle engines. With Pertatec Formula, Pertamax also has the ability to protect and cleanse engines from carbon buildup, so that combustion will be optimal, which leads to more efficient fuel consumption.
Furthermore, with RON 92 Pertamax has fulfilled the standard of environmentally friendly fuel as stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry (Permen LHK) No. 20 of 2017, regarding Quality Standards for Exhaust Gas Emissions for New Type Motor Vehicles Category M, N, and O. Article 3 Paragraph 2 of the LHK Regulation states that the minimum RON is 91, and for diesel fuel, the minimum Cetane Number (CN) is 51.
“Around 70% of air pollution that occurs in urban areas comes from vehicle exhaust emission. This is what encourages Pertamina to educate and strengthen quality and environmentally friendly fuel access, up to rural areas through Pertashop. Now RON 92 fuel with sulfur content to EURO IV standard is present in rural areas and is increasingly in demand by the community. This is a form of Pertamina’s commitment to support the realization of the use of clean energy,” said Irto.
Throughout 2021 up to last September, Pertamax that are distributed through Pertashop in more than 4.400 sub-districts or around 62% from the total sub-districts in Indonesia has reached 197 million liters. In September, more than 8% of the total national Pertamax sales were contributed by the presence of Pertashop as official distributors of Pertamina’s quality energy products.
In realizing easy access to quality and environmentally friendly energy, Pertamina Patra Niaga also invites and empowers the surrounding community. 3 thousand operating Pertashops have helped create jobs for 6.000 people in that area, encourage productivity, and build the economy starting from the village.
“Pertashop has brought access to clean energy in the form of Pertamax quality fuel and has encouraged the empowerment of rural communities. Pertamina Patra Niaga will continue this program, as a form of equal energy distribution and the implementation of ESG initiative to encourage the use of clean energy that is better for the environment,” stated Irto.**
