PGN Natural Gas Service, Gaskita Pintar, Ready to Serve 154 Thousand Prospective Customers in DKI Jakarta

Jakarta, April 8, 2022 – PT PGN Tbk, as Pertamina Gas Subholding, targets to build 154 thousand household gas connections in DKI Jakarta by 2022 through Gaskita Pintar products for IDR 10,000 per M³.

Customers will get advantages from Gaskita Pintar, such as free up to 15 meters of gas pipes installation connecting to gas equipment (stoves), free up to two stoves conversion, and free one-time pipe safety inspection. In addition, customers will get up to 30 million free fire insurance.

Gaskita Pintar gas connection for IDR 10,000 can save around 47% in costs compared to Non-Subsidized LPG. Based on the experiment to boil 10 liters of water, the gas cost is IDR 1,688, while it costs IDR 2,095 to use LPG.

“The construction of household gas connection has been fully regulated and supported by the government. Infrastructure is a vital object. Therefore, all parties need to support the gas connection implementation. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government support is needed, especially in terms of facilitating licensing for the construction of household gas lines in the DKI Jakarta area," said  Achmad Muchtasyar, Director of Infrastructure and Technology of PGN, said in a Workshop on Accelerating the Gas Connection Implementation Development Targets in the DKI Jakarta Region, with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (07/04 /2022).

Achmad continued that in the household gas connection construction in DKI Jakarta, a permit for the placement of a utility network was required before the work execution. Household gas lines fall into the utility networks category, namely the installation network system in cables or pipes (utility network). Therefore, the support for the ease of licensing for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is very important in the household gas connection construction.

PGN was also assigned to develop gas stations for flats in DKI Jakarta. In this case, PGN has collaborated with Jakpro to develop the 17 gas connections in flats managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government with a total potential of 11,442 units.

"PGN would like to thank the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government for its support in ensuring that the PGN gas connection development program benefits the residents of DKI Jakarta and can run without problems," Achmad continued.

Gas connection utilization for the people of DKI Jakarta will provide energy cost savings and products that are more practical, comfortable, and safe. As for the development of DKI Jakarta, PGN's gas connections bring benefits, especially in realizing Smart City, Langit Bersih (Clean Sky) Program, and reducing traffic density because it does not require operational vehicles to distribute natural gas to customers.**
