PHR Launches Career Incubator Program to Encourage Student's Competitiveness

Pekanbaru, November 10, 2021 – PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) launched a program to assist Riau students in making the right career choices called the PHR Career Incubator. Participants are equipped with a variety of basic skills to identify their interests and potential, improve soft skills, and develop to be competitive in work and entrepreneurship.

"This program is expected to improve the quality of human resources in Riau. Therefore, they have higher competitiveness," said the Governor of Riau in a speech read by Assistant III of the Regional Secretariat of Riau Province Syahrial Abdi at the launch of the Career Incubator Program in Pekanbaru, Riau, on Tuesday (9/11). The program launch was also attended by Danrem 031 Wirabima Brigadier General TNI, M. Syech Ismed, Rector of the University of Riau, Prof. Dr. Ir. Aras Mulyadi, M.Sc, and the President Director of PHR, Jaffee A. Suardin. Head of SKK Migas Sumbagut, Rikky Rahmat Firdaus, joined online.

PHR cooperates with the Center for Career Development and Entrepreneurship at the University of Riau (P2K2 Unri) to implement this program. As an initial stage, 20 selected students from Sakai local community attended. They are scholarship recipients from PHR who are currently studying in semesters 1 to 10. The evaluation results from this early stage program will be valuable input for similar programs in the following years.

"Facing the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 and also the demographic bonus in 2030, efforts to improve the quality of human resources are a demand. Career Incubator Program is our Social and Environmental Responsibility program to provide sustainable benefits and add value to the community," said President Director of PHR, Jaffee A. Suardin.

This program is Pertamina's commitment to collaborate and contribute to the government's efforts in improving local human resources quality. The education sector, said Jaffee, is one of the main concerns of the PHR Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program.

The PHR Career Incubator Program begins with a five-day workshop. The participants will receive a material of national insight, improving communication skills, building reputation and self-development, and entrepreneurship. They will be guided by mentors and experts from P2K2 UNRI, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP), and also the TNI.

After attending the workshop, participants will be monitored online for approximately the next 20 days. The monitoring aims to see the progress and description of the formation of positive behavior of the participants. The results of monitoring program alumni are in the form of reporting and tracking the track records/activities of the graduates of this program.

"We are honored by PHR's assistance and concern for the Sakai community. This certainly spurs our enthusiasm to compete and develop to be better in the future," said Mohamad Agar Kalipke, a traditional leader of the Sakai community.

After participating in this program, participants are expected to be more confident in making career choices and build positive behavior to be more competitive in an increasingly competitive world.

Another activity in the field of education that was carried out by PHR some time ago was the implementation of the 2021 Bibliotourism Maklumat and Traveling Webinar hosted by the Riau Tourism College in collaboration with the Faculty of Information Management at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia.**
