Jakarta, 19 April 2023 - PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has partnered with the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) to improve the safety and operational security of its ships, especially during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) 1444 H period. This cooperation follows the signing of a working guide (Damker) between PIS and TNI AL.
"PIS, through its HSSE function, has provided technical training for TNI AL personnel who will serve on PIS's SH IML ships in Indonesian waters," said PIS Corporate Secretary, Muh. Aryomekka Firdaus, on Tuesday (18/4).
The training was held on Friday (14/4) and was attended by 30 TNI AL personnel at Mako Lantamal III. Among those present were Paban VI Asops Kasal - Kolonel Laut (P) Sirilius and Asops Dan Lantamal III - Kolonel Laut (P) Agung Nugraha.
The support that will be provided by TNI AL personnel includes security, escort, and surveillance activities on board to prevent incidents of fraud and minimize losses in the distribution of oil and gas through sea routes.
"TNI personnel have been placed on PIS ships starting today. They will also serve as HSSE agents on board the ships, actively involved and concerned with HSSE procedures implementation to support safety and security aspects on board," said Aryomekka.
The tasks of the TNI AL personnel placed on board the ships include carrying out security measures to prevent illegal activities (such as ship-to-ship transfers, destruction of seals, turning off and/or closing CCTV cameras, passing lines, etc.), piracy, and preventing unauthorized persons from boarding the ship, as well as preventing threats and disruptions from irresponsible parties.
The implementation of security, surveillance, and escort activities on board the ships will be jointly evaluated by TNI AL and PIS every month in the form of a report to improve these security measures.**
