Jakarta, January 17, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero), in collaboration with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), participated in the largest tourism exhibition in the Netherlands, Vakantiebeurs, from Wednesday to Sunday, January 10-14, 2024, at Jaarbeurs, Utrecht. During the exhibition, Pertamina introduced its social and environmental responsibility program (TJSL), such as the Pertamina Tourism Village program and several outstanding micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) products.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, revealed that Pertamina's participation in this European exhibition aims to promote Indonesia’s culture, especially from Pertamina-supported communities. It also showcases Pertamina's efforts to empower various community groups for the Tourism Villages development in different Indonesia regions. Additionally, it underscores Pertamina's role in domestic energy transition development.
"One of the programs introduced at Vakantiebeurs is the Economic Village Hall (Balkondes) in Wringinputih Village and Karangrejo Village, both supported by Pertamina, located in Borobudur, Magelang Regency. Borobudur is already known as one of Indonesia's favorite tourist destinations, providing us with an opportunity to promote Pertamina's programs to a wider global audience," explained Fadjar.
Dian Hapsari Firasati, the Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility of Pertamina, expressed her pride in bringing Indonesian culture to this international event, including high-quality MSME products and community empowerment programs. Notable TJSL programs and outstanding MSME products include the Pertamina Tourism Village Balkondes, Pertamina Difablepreneur for Disability Friends, Independent Energy Village, Ayu Tenan Handicraft, Diby Leather Handicraft, Kuncoro Leather Handicraft, Omah Wayang, and others.
One of the showcased cultures is batik, especially batik from Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region, products of the Tourism Village program community. "Not only providing information about batik, but Pertamina also invites visitors to learn batik at the Pertamina booth. More interestingly, this batik program is supported by one of the Difablepreneur communities from Boyolali Regency, receiving positive responses from many visitors," she said.
One visitor from the Netherlands, Olaf, had the opportunity to try painting batik. Olaf passionately decorated the provided fabric. According to him, batik is not easy, but the result is breathtaking.
"I think it is quite challenging to batik, as it requires special skills. But the result is exquisite. If I have time, I might visit Boyolali to learn directly when I am in Indonesia," said Olaf.
During the same event, the Pertamina booth also received a visit from one of the executives of the Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (ASPINA) in the Netherlands, Mira Sari, who is engaged in the hotel business in the Netherlands. She expressed interest in several Pertamina-fostered MSME products to be one of the suppliers for her hotel business.
"In my opinion, the products in this booth are outstanding and will be in demand in the Netherlands. For instance, handicraft products like bracelets from Ayu Tenan and leather keychains from Diby Leather. Besides, I also need batik-patterned bedspreads, which could be fulfilled by the batik Difable group in Boyolali," added Mira.
Pertamina's TJSL activities are efforts to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in point 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and adhere to the principles of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG).
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
