Jakarta, July 6, 2021 - PT Pertamina (Persero) mobilized its subsidiary to assist the Government in handling Covid-19 by distributing oxygen needs of Covid-19 patients, including providing infrastructure and facilities (Sarfas), one of which is through the ISO Tank facility or oxygen tank operated by Pertamina Group.
The provision of the oxygen tank facility is in collaboration with a third party. The oxygen tank supply from the oxygen producer will be distributed to various hospitals, especially in the Java area.
President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, said Pertamina is fully committed to supporting the acceleration process of medical oxygen supplies distribution through synergies across directorates and subsidiaries. The distribution of oxygen tanks is coordinated directly by the Director of Logistics and Infrastructure, supported by the Gas Subholding to coordinate the supply of tanks and the Commercial & Trading Subholding to coordinate land transportation (Head Truck and Bed Trailer) for tank distribution.
Pertamina assigns the duty of the Corporate Secretary to coordinate with stakeholders, including the Ministry and business entities, SOE and private, to guarantee the target and smooth distribution of oxygen for hospitals in need.
To ensure this commitment, Nicke said, Pertamina is sending 21 ISO Tanks with a capacity of 20 tons from Morowali, Central Sulawesi, and 6 ISO Tanks from Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, which will arrive at Tanjung Priok port, each on July 6 and July 9, 2021.
Previously, Pertamina, through Subholding Gas, had succeeded in sending medical oxygen assistance to the Java area. The initial support was delivered to 10 hospitals in Central Java and Yogyakarta with a total volume of 29.9 tons. This volume will continue to be added, along with the increase in the number of ISO Tanks. Today, Pertamina is carrying out additional delivery of 16.5 tons of oxygen for Sardjito Hospital and PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
The distribution of oxygen, prioritizing the Central Java and Yogyakarta regions, is a follow-up to information from the National Oxygen Special Task Force (Satgas) regarding the limited oxygen in hospitals in those areas.
"This fast movement is proof of Pertamina's contribution in supporting the Government and helping people who are exposed to Covid-19 and need serious treatment in hospitals," concluded Nicke Widyawati.**
