Jakarta, September 22, 2020 - Pertamina's commitment to encouraging the development and independence of MSMEs continues to be proven. This time, through the Partnership Program, Pertamina held the Pilot Project for Upgraded Pertamina MSMEs Assistance, which as of mid-September 2020, has distributed business capital as much as IDR 3.3 billion. The total will continuously increase until the total distribution reaches IDR 100 Billion.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said that until this mid-September, according to Fajriyah, the total distribution of IDR 3.3 Billion had been distributed for East Java, Bali, and DKI Jakarta. While in the filing process, some MSMEs in DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten will be completed soon.
"It is hoped that with this Partnership Program, MSMEs will have another opportunity to increase their business and it can be used as well as possible to survive during the Covid-19 pandemic," said Fajriyah.
Aside from the distribution of business capital, the partnership program also collaborates with competent institutions for the development of MSMEs businesses which contain assistance for MSMEs. It includes training, mentoring, and coaching programs, which are carried out in stages and progress will be monitored with each fostered partner to assess their effectiveness.
This effort is one form of the Goal 8 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation. That is, to support economic growth that is inclusive and sustainable along with the full and productive workforce. It is hoped that it can help the community to get decent jobs and encourage national economic growth.
One of the Foster Partners, who has benefited from this program is Vielga Wennida. She is a CV business owner. Roemah Kebaya Vielga uses the distributed funds to buy materials for the production of their new masks. "We made embroidery and sequin masks, which we have also started to market. As a result, the sales were good, and we added six tailors and two embroidery workers," she said.
Another beneficiary of distribution is Triyono, who had also said the same thing. The owner of the Mandiri Art Shop business, which is engaged in furniture, uses the distributed funds as an addition to his business capital. About 20% to pay masons, 60% to make new products, and the remaining 20% as an emergency fund. "We hope Pertamina can continue to assist the MSMEs to survive amid the pandemic and expand market reach. With the support and guidance of PT Pertamina (Persero) and also competent institutions for the development of UMKM businesses, we are sure that MSMEs will remain optimistic and rise again amid any difficult conditions," said Triyono.
The Pilot Project Package for Upgraded MSME Assistance Program is planned to be distributed to 1,000 MSMEs in several regions of Indonesia. It covers the provinces of Riau, North Sumatra, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, East Java, Bali, NTB, and West Kalimantan.**
