PT KPI Balikpapan Unit Received 2 Awards from the Ministry of Village PDTT

Balikpapan, February 3, 2023 - Two Pertamina Social & Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs through PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Balikpapan Unit received awards from the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Ministry of Villages PDTT) in the CSR & Village Development event Sustainability Awards 2023. The Climate Village Program in Muara Rapak Village received a gold award, while the English Village program and the Lawe-Lawe Creativity Center received a bronze award.

"We should be grateful because there are two TJSL programs implemented by PT KPI Balikpapan Unit that received awards from stakeholders, namely the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration," said Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of PT KPI Balikpapan Unit, Ely Chandra Peranginangin, Friday, (03/02).

Chandra said that this award was received not solely because of PT KPI Unit Balikpapan’s contribution. “This award can be obtained thanks to contributions from various stakeholders. Starting from the subdistrict government, related agencies, and other institutions. What is equally important is how the local heroes and group members continue to be enthusiastic in collaborating to develop the program,” said Chandra.

The Climate Village Program in Muara Rapak Village, North Balikpapan District, Balikpapan City, is implemented to invite people to care about the surrounding environment. The climate village program aimed to encourage community participation in sustainable climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts. The programs implemented include waste management, land use for plants and afforestation, as well as disaster prevention and management.

Meanwhile, the English Village program and the Lawe-Lawe Creativity Center in Lawe-Lawe Village, Penajam District, North Penajam Paser Regency are programs carried out to provide informal English teaching. Moreover, it is also intended as a center for community creativity.

"The main goal is not to get an award, but through the assessment carried out by the Jury Team, especially during field visits, we get valuable inputs to develop this program in the future," said Chandra.

Chandra hopes that these programs can continue to be developed in the future. "We hope that these programs will continue to be developed. Therefore they can provide maximum benefits to the wider community," hoped Chandra.

The CSR award was given by the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration in collaboration with the Indonesia Social Sustainability Forum (ISSF). In 2023, the CSR and PDB Awards are attended by 53 companies that have passed the selection from 75 companies that took part in this award. Of the number selected, 25 of them were new companies.
