PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk Announces New Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders for Fiscal Year 2023

Jakarta, May 30, 2024 - PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) announced its new board of directors at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) held in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/5). The new board members are expected to strengthen PGE's position in geothermal development in Indonesia.

The GMS, held at Grha Pertamina, officially appointed Edwil Suzandi as Director of Exploration and Development. Additionally, the GMS appointed two new members to PGE's Board of Commissioners, Abdulla Zayed as Independent Commissioner and John Eusebius Iwan Anis as Commissioner.

President Director of PGE, Julfi Hadi, stated that the changes in the company's management are strategic steps to reinforce PGE's position as a world-class green energy company. "The presence of new management is expected to bring fresh energy to realize the company's vision of becoming a 1 GW company within the next two years through various exploration and business development activities," said Julfi Hadi.

Edwil Suzandi replaces Rachmat Hidajat as Director of Exploration and Development. Previously, Edwil served as Executive Vice President of Upstream Business of PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan. With his dedication to promoting national energy independence, Edwil contributed to various achievements during his tenure at the Rokan Working Area (WA), one of Indonesia’s largest oil and gas blocks. One notable achievement was recording an oil and gas lifting of up to 59 million barrels in 2023, making Rokan WA the largest oil producer in Indonesia.

Having been with PT Pertamina since 2010, Edwil has held strategic positions in upstream oil and gas development projects. He served as Vice President of Production & Project of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, Operational Director and Country Manager of Pertamina Algeria EP, and Vice President of Country Operation of Pertamina International EP Iraq. With extensive experience in oil and gas exploration, Edwil Suzandi is expected to enhance PGE's business development activities in the future.

In addition to announcing changes in the Board of Directors, the company also announced changes to two members of the Board of Commissioners.

Abdulla Zayed replaces Sujit S. Parhar. Abdulla is the Director of Development and Investment for Asia and Africa at Masdar, a renewable energy developer based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. With nearly 15 years of experience in the energy sector, he has held various strategic positions, including as a Renewable Energy Financial and Commercial Analyst at Masdar. Currently, Abdulla Zayed also serves as the President Director of MW Energy, a joint venture between Masdar and W Solar Investment, a subsidiary of Alpha Dhabi's investment. Abdulla Zayed's presence is an initiative to adopt a global perspective and leverage international expertise to support the company's growth and business development.

John Eusebius Iwan Anis replaces Dannif Danusaputro. John is the President Director of PT Pertamina Power Indonesia. He has held strategic positions at PT Pertamina (Persero), including President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia and President Director of PT Pertamina International EP. During his time at PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia, John Eusebius Iwan Anis played a pivotal role in fostering innovation, enabling the company to exceed its oil and gas production targets. With nearly 30 years of experience in the energy sector, John Anis's presence will help the company continue to drive optimal production and operational performance.

The appointment of the new management team is expected to make PGE more resilient in facing current and future challenges, including overseeing the national energy transition towards new and renewable energy and efforts to achieve Net Zero Emissions. PGE has several strategic goals for its business development, including achieving a generation capacity target of 1 GW within the next two years.
