PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Bekapai Field Reaches 10 Years Without LTI

Balikpapan, September 16, 2021 – The Bekapai Field, which is located in PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) Working Area which is included in Zone 8 of Upstream Subholding Kalimantan Region, with the support of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Bussiness Activities (SKK Migas) and PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) as the parent company, managed to reach ten years without Lost Time Injury (LTI) or lost working hours due to an accident. This achievement on August 27, 2021, is equivalent to 8,221,414 working hours.

Various HSSE programs and campaigns have been carried out by PHM workers in the Bekapai Field to ensure the implementation of safety aspects in operational activities: HERO (Health Evaluation Prior to Risky Operation), BEDIL (Basic Emergency Intervention Drill for All), SIMPLEX+ (Simple Exercise +), JATARI (Keep Hands and Fingers), Bekapai SIAP (Safety, Integrity, Attitude, Productivity), SALAM (Observe Each Other), and FRIENDS (Warn If I’m Not Safe).

PHM’s General Manage, Agus Amperianto, appreciated this achievement, “Hopefully in the future, the Bekapai field and all fields at PHM can continue to prioritize the safety aspect at work so that all PHM workers can return safely to meet their families at home. Don’t forget to stick to the COVID-19 health protocol properly,” added Agus.

PHI’s President Director, Chalid Said Salim, also expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the Bekapai field. “This achievement is a form of good cooperation between the management and all PHI workers, especially in the Bekapai field. This proves that all policies and rules designed by management can be implemented properly,” he said.**
