Jakarta, January 3, 2022 – Directors of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) directly monitored the implementation of the Nataru Task Force and at the same time prepare international shipping for the MT Gas Walio tanker to Singapore-Australia-China-Korea-Japan, this month.
Fleet Director, I Putu Puja Astawa carried out a Management Walkthrough (MWT), that was directly monitoring the tanker which has a deadweight of 17,400 Metric Tons (MT) on Friday (31/12). In monitoring the readiness of the ship, Puja Astawa participated in sailing from Tanjung Priok to Semarang. He watched and monitored maneuvering activities, ship navigation, and bunkering processes.
This MWT program was done as an effort to increase team building between teams that are onshore (land) and sea-based (offshore), by strengthening the connection through interactive discussions.
He stated to the entire crew of the MT Gas Walio ship to prioritize aspects of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) or K3 factors in all activities on board. "As well as improving and maintaining integrity in carrying out duties and responsibilities by upholding AKHLAK as the main principle of all workers," he said.
Puja also re-emphasized PIS's mind-shifting commitment from what was originally a cost center to a profit center for all crews on board, so that PIS can face challenges and changes that will be faced in the future.
Built in 2011 at Hyundai Heavy Industries, the 150-meter-long MT Gas Walio is a fully refrigated LPG vessel owned by PIS. Commanded by Captain Prawoto, this 10,000 MT vessel has a total crew of 26 people and is currently carrying a cargo of 5000 MT propane and 5000 MT butane.
The MT Gas Walio ship is currently traveling from Semarang waters with loading ports at Tanjung Sekong and Tanjung Uban. The ship is also in preparation for its maiden voyage to Australian territory, which is one of the PIS international routes.
On the sidelines of carrying out the duties of the domestic route, MT Gas Walio at the end of the year (31/12/2021) was also monitored directly by the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Mrs. Nicke Widyawati, the Board of Directors of Holding, and CEO of Subholding via online video connection.
Until the end of 2021, PIS succeeded in expanding international shipping routes from 8 to 11 routes. Namely; Africa, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, US, India, Algeria, and Bangladesh.
PIS continues to accelerate efforts to develop its business portfolio in the global arena. This is in line with PIS' target to become a flag carrier for the Indonesian nation in the national and international shipping industry. This is also a form of support from PIS so that Pertamina's group target can be achieved, which is to be in the top 100 global Fortune 500 companies with a valuation of US$100 billion in 2024.**
