Ready to Support MSEs to Upgrade and Go Global, Here Are Pertamina’s Nine Ways

Jakarta, September 22, 2021 – PT Pertamina (Persero) through Medium and Small Enterprises Funding Program (PUMK) has 9 (nine) ways to help its fostered partner to upgrade. So that MSEs who are mostly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic are able to become strong and independent small businesses.

Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman explained that the 9 (nine) leading programs are focused on empowering MSEs and encouraging them to upgrade. “The fostered partners (MB) will be coached according to the condition of their businesses and hoped to gradually upgrade. Starting from Go Modern, Go Digital, Go Online, to be able to be Go Global MSEs,” she said.

The first leading program is UMK Academy. This event was formed as acceleration for outstanding MSEs to upgrade. In 2020, there are 290 MB who became UMK Academy participants, 162 of them graduated to be upgraded MSEs. Whereas 2021’s UMK Academy participants reached 613 MB and the series of programs are still ongoing until the end of the year.

Second, continued Fajriyah, appropriate technology grants to assist the development of UMK production through grants of appropriate technology tools. The majority are given to fostered partners from the agricultural and plantation sectors to support their production.

The third is certification assistance and business licensing to obtain Halal certification, Intellectual Property Rights (HKI), and distribution permits from the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM). As an effort to increase people and the market’s trust in the MSEs’ products. “As many as 64 MB have received assistance in managing HKI certificates, and 21 of 24 MSEs have obtained Halal certificates from similar events," explained Fajriyah.

Fourth, display product SME by displaying MSEs’ products in the public area (airports, stations, etc). In the first semester of 2021, MSEs’ outlets have been rearranged at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Fifth, e-learning facilities in the form of online MSE training that are carried out regularly. Pertamina provides facilities in the form of an MSMEs e-platform specifically for Pertamina’s fostered partners and can be accessed through the www.belajarumkm-pertamina.com website. Up to the third trimester of 2021, Pertamina has held 169 trainings that were attended by thousands of MSEs.

Sixth, the publication for fostered partners through several media such as Instagram and Youtube of @gen_umkm. As well as some publication assistance from PUMK program that was carried out in several Pertamina regions. Until the end of August, there have been 434 contents supporting this publication effort.

Seventh, for MSEs’ sales through the marketplace by collaborating with e-commerce to increase product sales. Most recently, Pertamina carried out e-commerce training in March 2021. As many as 33 MSEs have participated in the training.

Eighth, facilitate the existence of SME 1000 catalog that contains information on 1.000 fostered partners based on the curation results of fostered partners’ products with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). The second edition of the SME 1000 book was just launched on Saturday (28/8) by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.

Lastly, holding and involving fostered partners on exhibition / Virtual Exhibition as business development through exhibitions, trainings, and business forums. As in the Proudly Made in Indonesia East Kalimantan Movement activity (GBBI Kaltim) and SMEXPO 2021 that will be held next October.

Pertamina also supports SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) achievements by implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all of its operational areas. It is part of the environmental and social responsibility (TJSL) to realize economic benefits in the community.**
