Real Commitment to Support Social and Environmental Responsibility, Pertamina Wins 57 Awards at the 2020 Nusantara CSR Awards

Jakarta, October 25, 2020 - Pertamina and 13 (thirteen) Operating Units and Subsidiaries have successfully won 57 Awards from all categories at the 2020 Nusantara CSR Awards.

Pertamina also won the highest award, Best of The Best Nusantara CSR Awards 2019 by PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Area Kamojang and Best of Nusantara CSR Awards 2020 by PT Pertamina EP, PT Pertamina (Persero) MOR I, and PT Pertamina (Persero) MOR V.

The award ceremony was held at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta and was attended by the head of the Operations Unit and Subsidiaries online through the Zoom Meeting platform, Thursday (22/10).

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said Pertamina's commitment and contribution in empowering the community and the environment, MSMEs players, and handling Covid-19 consistently and sustainably were the main factors for Pertamina Group to win this prestigious award.

"All Pertamina operating units and subsidiaries continue to strive to make sustainable innovations in carrying out social and environmental responsibilities following the ISO 26000 standards so that they have a positive impact in advancing society to achieve sustainable development goals," said Fajriyah.

Fajriyah added, as a state-owned enterprise, Pertamina is always at the forefront of supporting national economic growth and driving the people's economy through various CSR programs and the Partnership & Community Development Program.

"Pertamina's fostered partners are spread throughout Indonesia in line with Pertamina's business operations that reach all corners of the country, including the 3T (frontier, outermost and remote) areas," added Fajriyah.

Nusantara CSR Awards 2020 is an award event aimed at companies that have a commitment and contribution to society and the environment, including social and environmental responsibility programs that are implemented to deal with the impact of Covid-19.

This year is the 11th event with 11 categories, namely:

  2. Community Economic Empowerment
  3. Health Quality Improvement
  4. Tourism Village Development
  5. Community Involvement in Handling Waste
  6. Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities
  7. Program Integration for Broad Impact
  8. Leaders Inspire CSR Practices
  9. Health and Economic Assistance (charity) for Emergency Management of Covid-19
  10. Community Economic Recovery Program Planning
  11. Planning for Village or Tourism Village Adoption Programs

One of the flagships CSR programs being carried out is Geothermal Potato. This program is the development of a potato planting medium sterilizer with geothermal steam. This program is creating shared value (CSV) of PT Pertamina Geothermal Area Kamojang, which supports the SDGs goals of clean and affordable energy and ending hunger.

Also, the Pejabat program (Pusat Ekonomi Jambangan Hebat) Peduli Ge'blak (Gerakan Balik Kanan) empowers people to organize riverbank areas to became more beautiful. Through this program, Marketing Operation Region V Integrated Terminal Surabaya embraces the surrounding MSMEs. Therefore, Kampung Pejabat becomes one of the locations for creative economy tourism visits in Surabaya to achieve the SDGs target of a sustainable city and community.

Previously, The La Tofi School of CSR had set 2 (two) categories to get the 2020 Nusantara CSR Awards Best Practices as inspiration for participation, namely the Health and Economic Assistance (charity) category for Emergency Management of Covid-19 and the Category Inspirational Leader of CSR Practices given to VP CSR & SMEPP Management, Arya Dwi Paramita.**
