Receives Prime Cargo, Tanjung Uban Terminal Ready to Become a Trading Hub in Southeast Asia

Jakarta, August 20, 2022 - The Tanjung Uban Integrated Terminal, now managed by PT Peteka Karya Tirta (PKT), PT Pertamina International Shipping subsidiary, is ready to become a trading hub for fuel and LPG in the Southeast Asia region.

One of this readiness is marked by the Tanjung Uban Fuel Terminal integrated into a Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) inauguration and the receipt of the first cargo in the area. As it is known, the area that becomes a trading node means that it is recognized as a strategic area to become a liaison between industry and suppliers, in this case, fuel and LPG commodities.

"This achievement cannot be separated from the cooperation and support from the Customs and Excise Office of the Ministry of Finance, especially the Riau Islands DJBC and KPPBC Tanjung Pinang. Hopefully, this achievement will be an initial milestone for other Pertamina terminals, especially PKT's terminals to play a role in the international market," said the Director of PKT Hari Purnomo, at the inauguration ceremony in Tanjung Uban.

The PLB inauguration ceremony and the first cargo acceptance were also attended by the Head of the Customs and Excise Regional Office, Akhmad Rofiq; the Head of Customs and Excise for the Special Riau Islands, Abdul Rasyid; the Head of the Tanjung Pinang Customs KPP, Tri Hartana; and also management from PKT namely Director of PKT, Hari Purnomo; VP Terminal Operations of PKT, Heri Santika; and VP Trading & Other Business of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN), Maya Kusmaya.

The Tanjung Uban Integrated Terminal on Bintan Island has a strategic location. It is close to Singapore, which has been one of the largest fuel trading hubs in Asia. With this PLB status, it is hoped that the Tanjung Uban Integrated Terminal can open opportunities for global suppliers to store their cargo in Indonesia.

"With the official Tanjung Uban Integrated Terminal as a PLB, it is hoped that it can increase terminal utilization at Pertamina Group, develop terminal facilities for trading needs in the region, and expand terminal involvement in the international market arena," said Corporate Secretary of PIS, Muhammad Aryomekka Firdaus.
