Receiving 492 New MSEs, Pertamina is Ready to Send Foster Partners Upgrading and Go Global

Jakarta, September 23, 2021 – PT Pertamina (Persero)'s commitment to assisting micro and small enterprises (MSEs) amid the Covid-19 pandemic is getting stronger. Pertamina continues to increase Pertamina's UMK Funding Program partners each month. Until the third quarter of 2021, there are at least 492 MSEs that have joined.

This sum has contributed to Pertamina's overall number of partners, which presently stands at over 65 thousand MSEs across Indonesia, since 1993. Each MSE empowers workers to help the economy around their environment.

Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, explained that Pertamina's MSE development activities brought a domino effect to the parties involved. "Every MSE usually has workers, and the majority of this one worker is also an economic supporter for their family. The more successful the MSEs, the more prosperous the workers will be," she said.

Fajriyah explained, of the hundreds of new fostered partners (MB) in the first quarter, the majority was dominated by the trade sector with 281 MB, followed by the industrial sector with 89 MB, and the livestock sector with 61 MB. "The rest is from the fisheries, plantation, agriculture, and services sectors," she added.

Pertamina, continued Fajriyah, did not limit MSEs from any sector to join as foster partners. All of them will be fostered and accompanied until they become upgraded MSEs. They will be going through several coaching roadmaps starting from the traditional phase to Go Modern MSEs, Go Digital, Go Online, and Go Global MSEs.

One of the new partners in the industrial sector is Ratna Rika Remadha. Even though she only joined in early 2021, Gobang Ceu Erat Fried Onion has experienced many developments in her business. "After Pertamina assisted my business, the turnover increased by around 40%, and the number of workers increased from 2 to 4 people," she said.

According to Fajriyah, through the PUMK Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can drive the economy--energy that becomes fuels and energy that produce sustainable growth.

Pertamina also supports SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) achievement by implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all its operational areas. It is part of the Environmental and Social Responsibility (TJSL) to realize economic benefits in the community.**
