April 8, 2022 - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Arifin Tasrif, accompanied by President Director of PT Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, reviewed of several petrol stations in East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. Arifin and Nicke want to ensure fuel oil (BBM) supply to the community are well despite the increasing demand for fuel this Ramadan.
In East Kalimantan, specifically in Samarinda City, Arifin and Nicke reviewed five petrol stations, including the Sentosa petrol station in North Samarinda district and Tanah Merah petrol station on the Samarinda-Bontang road KM 17. The Minister ESDM and the President Director of Pertamina also reviewed the Sungai Alat Astambul petrol station and the Matraman petrol station in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan.
Arifin appreciated Pertamina's efforts to ensure the fuel and LPG stocks availability throughout Indonesia. Arifin added that although there had been an increase in demand for fuel, the government, especially Pertamina, had managed to control it.
"Pertamina always tries to fulfill the demand for fuel," said Arifin while at 6370601 petrol station, Astambul, Banjar, South Kalimantan.
When questioned about the security of fuel and LPG stockpiles during Ramadan and ahead of Idul Fitri 2022, Arifin said that the Government and Pertamina are trying to keep the stock of fuel and LPG in a sufficient status.
"We will try to be sufficient. Insya Allah, it is enough. As long as no one takes too much. (enough) Until Eid," he explained.
Arifin said that his party would add a fuel quota if needed. "We estimate this year, if we see (there is an increase in fuel demand), it can be above 10 percent on a total count," said Arifin Tasrif.
Meanwhile, Nicke Widyawati said Pertamina ensures that the energy supply to the community runs well, even though there is an increase in fuel demand this Ramadan. "Pertamina has also adjusted to various fuel needs," said Nicke.
Nicke also stated that as anticipation, Pertamina has prepared modular and pocket petrol stations during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) Task Force this time. Nicke added that Pertamina also recorded the purchase of subsidized diesel at petrol stations as a form of supervision and implementation of regulations regarding the maximum filling of each vehicle type to minimize subsidized diesel distribution that was not on target.
"Pertamina continues to carry out the Government and the Ministry of Energy and Resources mandate to distribute subsidized diesel fuel," explained Nicke.
Nicke conveyed that currently the fuel supply is sent every day from the fuel terminals to petrol stations throughout Kalimantan. "The distribution is carried out in good conditions so that people don't have to worry because the fuel stock is guaranteed to be sufficient," said Nicke.
For information, there are 15 terminal fuel plants, 9 DPPU, 3 LPG depots, and one refinery in Kalimantan. The total fuel storage capacity is 678,000 KL, and the total LPG storage capacity is 50,600 MT. In addition, there are also 59 One Price fuel points. While for the transportation mode of fuel and LPG, there are 624 taxis, 35 ships, and 1 plane.**
