Sean Gelael Secures 2nd Place at Le Mans 24 Hours with Pertamax Turbo

Le Mans, June 17, 2024 – National racer Sean Gelael successfully finished in second place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race at the Circuit de la Sarthe, France, from Saturday to Sunday local time, with the support of Pertamax Turbo. Sean Gelael, Darren Leung, and Augusto Farfus, part of Team WRT 31, managed to secure the podium with an extraordinary effort.

Since the beginning of the 2024 season, Pertamina Patra Niaga, through its leading product, Pertamax Turbo, has been actively participating in this prestigious event as one of the sponsors of Team WRT 31 and has appointed Sean Gelael as the Brand Ambassador for Pertamax Turbo to promote this environmentally friendly fuel on the international stage.

Riva Siahaan, the President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, congratulated Sean Gelael and Team WRT 31 on their achievement. He conveyed that this is a proud accomplishment for the nation that deserves recognition.

“We congratulate Team WRT 31 for finishing in second place with an outstanding effort. The support of Pertamax Turbo in this world-class racing event helps to raise awareness of Indonesia's environmentally friendly fuel globally,” said Riva on Monday (17/6/2024).

Sean Gelael and Team WRT 31 started from P15 and were initially in P20 in the LMGT3 class. However, their hard work from day to night on both dry and wet tracks led Team WRT 31 to secure second place.

“This was not an easy fight. We are grateful to everyone who supported us in securing the second place. The collaboration with Pertamax Turbo also helped to increase the recognition of this environmentally friendly fuel as we reached the podium,” said Sean.

Irto Petrus Ginting, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, added that the successful collaboration between Team WRT 31 and Pertamax Turbo is due to the high quality of Pertamax Turbo with RON 98, which competes with other world-class fuels.

"Pertamax Turbo meets the needs of high-tech gasoline engines with EURO 4 standards and high performance. Pertamax Turbo is available at Pertamina petrol stations," said Irto.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, the VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, expressed his congratulations and pride in Sean Gelael's achievement, noting the support of Pertamina Patra Niaga. This accomplishment is fully supported not only to introduce Pertamina's world-class products but also as proof that Indonesian talents can compete on the global automotive stage.

"Pertamax Turbo and Sean Gelael are two of Indonesia's prides that can compete globally through Quality and Achievement," said Fadjar.
