Jakarta, February 2, 2024 – The MT Gamsunoro vessel owned by PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has completed the loading process at Rabigh Port, Saudi Arabia, and is departing from the Red Sea area to continue its voyage towards the Suez Canal.
"Presently, the vessel has resumed sailing towards the Suez Canal to continue towards American waters. Alhamdulillah, the entire crew and the vessel's condition are safe and secure," said Brilian Perdana, Director of Crude and Petroleum Tanker of PIS, on Thursday (1/2).
Brilian explained that the MT Gamsunoro vessel, which garnered attention for its clearance to sail in the Red Sea, is owned by PIS. The ship, built in 2010, is operated to transport and distribute crude oil, carrying the Indonesian flag, and manned by Indonesian crews.
"The PIS team has been monitoring the escalating situation in the Red Sea region and remains vigilant in tracking its ongoing developments. We also maintain close coordination with relevant authorities in each region so that the Gamsunoro vessel can sail and operate safely and smoothly," he explained.
Brilian stated that PIS is intensively coordinating with the Singapore Maritime & Port Authority, Defense Attaché of the UAE Embassy, Directorate General of Sea Transportation - Ministry of Transportation of Indonesia, and others.
"We are committed to ensuring that every journey of our vessels, such as the MT Gamsunoro, proceeds safely and smoothly. It is a tangible manifestation of our Go Global commitment and service competency enhancement," Brilian added.
The MT Gamsunoro vessel is one of the 61 vessels owned by PIS sailing on international routes. In 2023, PIS sailed on five continents with 50 international routes.
