Jakarta, May 7, 2021 - At the end of Ramadan, about 22 thousand orphans and Duafa children across Indonesia receive from the Pertamina Group, making Eid al-Fitr 1442 H a joyous event.
During Ramadan, donations, gifts, and CSR assistance are received by the Orphanage Foundation Management, Mosque Management, and Village Heads/Lurah at 278 locations in Indonesia, with a total value of nearly IDR 5 billion.
The orphan and the Duafa, mainly in the Pertamina Group operational area or project, welcomed the Ramadan donation happily. They considered that the assistance provided by the Energy SOE was significant amid the Covid 19 pandemic that had lasted more than one year.
"With the support of such various numbers and forms, it touched and excite us to continue developing this orphanage. Hopefully, Pertamina will get blessings in running its business. We will use this donation as well as possible," said Ustadz Rachmad Akhsan, founder of the Muhammadiyah Orphanage Cilacap.
Iskandar, a caretaker of the Ar Rozak Orphanage, Mekarsari Village, South Dumai District, also felt grateful after receiving the distributed donation.
"Alhamdulillah, we have received donations for the children in this orphanage. We pray that the company's operations will run smoothly and in this month of Ramadan, blessings will come to all of us," he said.
Acting Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero) said that Pertamina always uses the momentum of Ramadan to provide positive energy for the community.
According to Fajriyah, the activities carried out by the operating unit and its subsidiaries are also part of Pertamina's social commitment, which is in line with the values of Environment, Social & Governance (ESG), and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to eradicate poverty (1) and reduce imbalances (10).
"We want those who have economic limitations to enjoy happiness in this holy month and feel Pertamina's presence in their region. Their support is very important in ensuring the success and sustainability of the company's business today and in the future," concluded Fajriyah.**
