Starting as a Tailor and Bag Pattern Maker, This Pertamina Fostered Partner Reaches Hundreds of Million Turnover

Garut, December 7, 2021 – PT Pertamina (Persero) through PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional West Java continues to commit in supporting the micro and small economy in all sectors of its fostered partners. Rosyanah, a woman born in Ciamis, 1968, is the owner of a leathercraft business with an Instagram account @etnixleather.

Starting from sewing and making bag patterns, Rosyanah ventured to build her business with her husband in 2002. The leather crafts from her business produce several products such as bags, wallets, jackets, and gloves. The prices of the products sold vary, starting from IDR 100,000 to IDR 500,000

Rosyanah's commitment in creating job opportunities to support the government's program in reducing unemployment in Indonesia has now found a solution, considering that the leather craftsmen in their business are almost spread throughout West Java.

It is undeniable that the covid-19 pandemic is not an easy thing for Rosyanah and all leather craftsmen in West Java to go through, considering that buying bags, wallets, and others like that are not a primary human need. However, not wanting her business to go out of business during the pandemic, Rosyanah carried out various innovations instead, such as selling her products online and joining Pertamina's fostered partners to get additional capital for her business so that she could continue to survive and innovate during the pandemic.

"To be able to survive during the pandemic, all entrepreneurs must remain productive and continue to innovate. Pertamina educates its fostered partners to shift from conventional sales to online sales. This is to anticipate the accumulation of products without market," said Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga West Java Region, Eko Kristiawan.

“Being a Pertamina Fostered Partner is very influential on my and my husband's business. Capital loans from Pertamina became an additional business capital during the pandemic. Not only did I get a capital loan, but I also received management training and was able to take part in exhibitions that collaborated with Pertamina," said Rosyanah.

Now Rosyanah can sell 100-150 pcs per month with shipping to all over Indonesia. Before joining as Pertamina's Fostered Partner, Rosyanah earned a turnover of 50-100 million rupiah per month. After joining Pertamina as a Fostered Partner, now from her business can earn a turnover of 100-200 million rupiah per month.

Rosyanah is now very grateful for being able to participate in empowering the surrounding community through her business so that she can help reduce unemployment.

"Through the partnership program, Pertamina is present as energy for MSEs, and together we move the community's economy," concluded Eko.

This program also aims to continue implementing point 8 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is decent work and economic growth. In addition to the SDGs, Pertamina also seeks to implement Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) in the social sector. This way, Pertamina believes that it can always generate economic benefits in the community in line with environmental and social responsibilities.
