June 26, 2022 - "Thank God I have one hotel that signed the MoU and 16 other hotels for cooperation agreement," said Endang, the Owner of Mahkota Snack and Mahkota Kopi, during a business meeting between MSME players and the hotel industry.
Endang is one of Pertamina's MSME Partners who was lucky during the business meeting. PT Pertamina (Persero) successfully held a meeting between potential buyers in the hotel industry and creative economy micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), the Provincial Government of Central Java - DIY, and the Borobudur Authority Agency. The event was held for two days, starting from 22 – 23 June, 2022 at Yudisthira Hall, Jogja Expo Center Yogyakarta.
At the business meeting, around 30 MSMEs achieved supply chain cooperation worth IDR 2.889 billion. There are 20 hotels committed to purchasing MSME products.
The business meeting for Strengthening the Supply Chain of the Tourism Industry and Creative Economy at DPSP Borobudur aims to bring together MSME actors to the hospitality industry to support increasing hotel sales for both domestic and foreign visitors.
Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, the Director of Industrial Management of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, explained that the business meeting to strengthen 100 MSMEs are involved in the Borobudur DPSP area supply chain.
“With support from Pertamina, upskilling was held for three days as well as briefing related to branding, communication, negotiation, and training related to pricing strategies. We hope that this transaction is sustainable, and apart from the existing commitments, some potential that can still be followed up between MSMEs and the hotel industry," he said.
One of the fostered partners who attended this business meeting was Endang, an MSME from Gesing Village, Kandangan, Temanggung. It produces processed bananas and robusta coffee. “Bananas and coffee are local village crops,” Endang said. She strives for local plant products to have more value and create jobs for home makers and teenagers around the place of business.
Endang hopes that after this event, she will sign the MoU with all hotels in Central Java – DIY for the next few years. The business meeting activity with the hotel business is aligned with its business target market. Where hotels usually need various kinds of snacks, food, and drinks.
Acting VP of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Heppy Wulansari revealed out of 100 MSMEs participating in the business meeting, 24 were Pertamina Fostered Partners. "They were chosen to participate in the event after a tight curation process," she said.
Heppy hopes this activity will attract many hotels and resorts to cooperate and use their products.
Pertamina continues to assist its MSMEs to go Global through various coaching programs such as the UMK Academy and Pertamina SMEXPO. Pertamina SMEXPO is a place for MSMEs to learn to use the marketplace to increase market reach.
"Besides that, there are other trainings, such as domestic or international certifications and exhibitions," Heppy concluded.
Pertamina's MSME fostered partners can register to join the exhibition where Pertamina will participate in 2022 via https://bit.ly/kurasipameran2022 with the several criteria. It includes having current loan installments, UMK Academy members, participated in local exhibitions, can produce their own with adequate capacity, and having promotion materials (catalogs and videos). They must also not use subsidized LPG, download the MyPertamina application, following gen_umkm on Instagram, and willing to make promotional packages during the exhibition.
Pertamina also continues to support the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) achievement through the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in its operational areas. It is part of Environmental and Social Responsibility (TJSL) to realize economic benefits in the community.**
