Jakarta, April 19, 2024 - The Deputy Minister of SOE, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, conducted a working visit to the Netherlands on Friday, April 19, 2024, along with the Board of Directors of PT Pertamina (Persero) to attend the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Pertamina and ENI S.p.A to explore the potential of oil and gas exploration and production projects in several international blocks to support national energy resilience.
The MOU was signed by the Director of Strategy, Portfolio, and Business Development of PT Pertamina (Persero), Salyadi Dariah Saputra, and the Director of Upstream of ENI S.p.A, Luca Vignati in Amsterdam.
Witnessing the signing of the MoU were the Deputy Minister of SOE, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, and President Director of PT Pertamina International EP, Jaffee Arizon Suardin.
"This MOU will strengthen the synergy established between Pertamina and ENI, both in operational areas in Indonesia and potential cooperation in foreign blocks, such as Africa and the Middle East," said the President Director of Pertamina Nicke Widyawati.
According to Nicke, ENI is one of the oil and gas companies successful in exploration. ENI also sees Indonesia as one of its foreign business focuses.
"This business meeting will strengthen the partnership between Pertamina and ENI, especially in countries where both Pertamina and ENI have established their presence in managing oil and gas blocks," she added.
Director of Strategy, Portfolio, and Business Development of PT Pertamina (Persero), Salyadi Dariah Saputra, added that this strengthening of cooperation will also provide opportunities for Pertamina to play a role in oil and gas management at the international level.
"The partnership with ENI is expected to enhance Pertamina's ability to increase reserves and oil and gas production, domestically and internationally, thus strengthening national energy resilience," Salyadi said.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, revealed that Pertamina aims to strengthen its operations abroad as part of its efforts to increase oil and gas production, which will ultimately reinforce Pertamina as a globally operating energy company while also utilizing the production for domestic needs.
"Pertamina's global expansion is aimed at strengthening our role abroad. The synergy between Pertamina with ENI and other energy companies is expected to support Pertamina's commitment to becoming a sustainable energy company," Fadjar explained.
Also present at the event were the SVP of Corporate Finance of Pertamina, Bagus Agung Rahadiansyah, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina. Brahmantya Satyamurti Poerwadi, Exploration Director of ENI S.p.A., Aldo Napolitano, and Head of Agri Feedstock Eni Natural Resources of ENI S.p.A., Federico Maria Grati.
