Semarang, May 30, 2024 - To ensure accurate LPG filling, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Central Java Regional Division, conducted visits and simultaneous sample testing of 3 kg LPG refills at LPG Filling Stations (SPBE) across Central Java on Wednesday (May 29).
Brasto Galih Nugroho, Area Manager for Communication, Relations, & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Central Java Regional Division, stated that these visits are conducted every three months, implementing the Pertamina Way audit to ensure the accuracy of LPG quality and quantity for consumers.
“Inspections were carried out at SPBE locations in Central Java, including Semarang City, Demak Regency, Pemalang Regency, and Kendal Regency. These inspections involved checking the weight of the cylinders to ensure they meet the set standards, verifying calibration documents, and examining the gas-filling machines at the SPBE (Unit Filling Machine/UFM). The inspection results indicated that the sample percentages met the regulations and the cylinder weights adhered to the standards,” Brasto said.
Sample testing of the cylinders is performed daily by the SPBE and recorded in a daily sampling logbook. Three cylinders per UFM are tested in the morning before operations commence to ensure the UFM settings are accurate for a 3 kg fill weight.
The monitoring and inspection results are consistently reported to the LPG Filling and Transportation Stations (SPPBE) and internally to Pertamina Patra Niaga, especially the Central Java Regional Division.
For information, the total weight of the 3 kg LPG product is 8 kg, consisting of a 5 kg cylinder weight and 3 kg LPG content. Consumers purchasing LPG from official outlets can weigh the cylinders directly. If the weight does not match, the outlet must replace it.
Meanwhile, the Regional Marketing Director, Mars Ega Legowo, appreciated the synergy between the Ministry of Trade, Pertamina, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in supervising LPG distribution.
“Through the Pertamina Way (an audit system for all SPBEs conducted by competent and independent audit institutions), it is hoped that all SPBEs can operate according to the established SOPs,” Mars Ega explained.
Echoing this statement, Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting mentioned that Pertamina Patra Niaga would continue to enhance collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, not only in supervision but also in improving the system to ensure smooth distribution of 3 kg LPG from SPBE to the community.
