Lombok, September 25, 2024 – Sixty Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) had the opportunity to participate in the 2024 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, an international motorcycle racing event. These enterprises are part of the East Lombok Rumah BUMN, fostered by Pertamina.
These fostered enterprises will provide souvenirs, food, and beverages for Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit visitors.
One of them is D’etnick Istana Mutiara Lombok, which sells highly sought souvenirs by tourists. Janual Aidi, the owner, said it was his second year participating in the event.
"Last year, we made about IDR 200 million in just three days. Moreover, we established a wide business network with several international visitors who attended," Janual shared on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the East Lombok Rumah BUMN, Jl. TGKH Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid, Sandubaya, Selong District, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.
For him, the opportunity given by Pertamina is a blessing for the sustainability of his business.
"I hope the 2024 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia will help us become more resilient entrepreneurs with an even broader network," he said.
D’etnick Istana Mutiara Lombok is an MSME specializing in handicrafts, with its main products being jewelry made from pearls set in silver, gold, and rhodium, as well as derivative products from pearl shells. With the tagline "Ethnic, Elegant, Luxe, Modern Jewellery," D’etnick’s products are handmade by local artisans in Lombok using the island’s signature material, South Sea Pearls.
Their jewelry emphasizes ethnic designs that carry local stories. Additionally, D’etnick Istana Mutiara Lombok has started utilizing pearl shell powder waste as a cosmetics material.
Similarly, Admiatun Suwendatanti, the owner of Kelapa Idea, expressed that the opportunity provided by Pertamina has significantly boosted her business.
"The impact is significant. At first, we achieved much better income than usual. Second, we benefited from free branding, introducing our products to local and foreign tourists. Third, we can make a positive impact on people around us," Admiatun explained.
Since joining as Pertamina’s fostered partner, Kelapa Idea has expanded its market internationally, reaching countries such as South Korea and Malaysia.
"In 2022, we joined Pertamina and started participating in many exhibitions. Since then, we have gained recognition and entered the international market, exchanging information and building networks with other fostered partners," Admiatun said.
Kelapa Idea was founded to address environmental issues in Pohgading Village, specifically the unprocessed coconut waste and the lack of community skills in utilizing raw materials. Kelapa Idea was created to tackle these problems by transforming coconut waste into several value-added crafts.
