Bali, May 14, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero) has been recognized for its success in expanding energy access and transitioning to green energy for the community. Due to these achievements, Pertamina received three awards at the CNN Indonesia Awards 2024, held on Monday (13/5) in the ballroom of The Stones Hotel Bali. The three accolades were awarded in the Best Green Energy Initiative, Outstanding Sustainable Products and Services, and Outstanding Community Development Campaign categories.
The awards were presented by the President Director of Detik Network, Abdul Aziz, to the Director of Strategy, Portfolio, and Business Development (SPPU) of Pertamina, A. Salyadi Saputra.
Salyadi stated that these awards will further motivate the company, encouraging Pertamina to develop more sustainable business initiatives.
Salyadi added that Pertamina is mandated to ensure national energy security and to make energy available and affordable throughout Indonesia. "We are also facing an energy transition, so we need to prepare for sustainable business in the future, including its governance aspects," said Salyadi.
The awards were based on Pertamina's efforts in utilizing Solar Power Plants (PLTS) to process waste into economically valuable products. Additionally, as a state-owned enterprise leading the energy transition, Pertamina has expanded energy access and green energy transition for the community. Pertamina also implements Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs to conduct sustainable business that benefits the company and the public.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, added that these awards are an honor and motivation for Pertamina to fulfill its mandate to provide energy and to face the energy transition more effectively.
According to Fadjar, these accolades are tangible proof of the company’s efforts in empowering communities through its community development programs. “We hope that with these awards, Pertamina will continue to improve in achieving sustainability. As an energy company, we have social and environmental responsibilities to empower communities and the environment. Thus, we can become an environmentally friendly energy company,” he concluded.
