Jakarta, August 27, 2021 – One criterion for becoming micro-small enterprises (MSEs) is that the fostered partners can obtain certificates and permits for their businesses. Supporting this, PT Pertamina (Persero), through the UMK Academy event, held the socialization of several certifications on Friday (30/7). One of them is the socialization of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) permits.
Acting Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman explained, this socialization was attended by UMK Academy participants who were declared eligible and willing to follow the stages of the permit processing process.
"Before the fostered partners enter a more technical stage, there must be some socialization that needs to be conveyed. Regarding what must be prepared and how the mechanism and knowledge of what benefits can be obtained if you have this BPOM permit," explained Fajriyah.
This socialization technique was also delivered directly by Dwi Jarwati. As Head of Special Diet Food Registration Section, Directorate of Processed Food Registration of BPOM. In her presentation, Dwi emphasized the importance of having a distribution permit. "Every processed food produced domestically or imported for retail trade-in packaging before being circulated must have a distribution permit," she said.
However, Dwi continued that there are some exceptions to processed foods that are not required to have a distribution permit from either the BPOM or a P-IRT production permit. Such as food with a shelf life of fewer than seven days, imported in small quantities, used as raw materials, processed food that is not sold directly to consumers, processed and packaged in front of the buyer, and ready-to-eat food.
To get the BPOM distribution permit, Dwi explained that MSEs could open the website www.e-reg.pom.go.id to input data, upload documents, and register. "But for those who are still confused, you can open the FAQ tab to find out clearer information about the terms and procedures for registration," concluded Dwi.
One of the socialization participants, Indah Puji Lestari, admitted that she was enlightened after joining the program. "I already have a P-IRT. It turns out that if the place of production is separated from the place of residence, I have to take care of BPOM certification. Currently, my residence and production are still one. Hopefully, in the future, it can continue to grow," she said.
In addition, Saiful Abdullah, the owner of a chocolate processing business in Makassar, hopes that his product will soon get a BPOM distribution permit. That way, their products will gain more trust in the hearts of consumers and increase the economic potential for both their businesses and their workers. "If my business continues to grow, there will be more jobs available," he said.
According to Fajriyah, through the MSE Funding Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that moves the economy--energy that fuels and energy that produces sustainable growth.
Pertamina continues to support SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) point 8 achievements through implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all of its operational areas. It is part of the social and environmental responsibility to realize economic benefits in the community.**
