Supporting Clean and Healthy Air, Pertamina Runs the Langit Biru Program

Jakarta, November 14, 2020 – PT Pertamina (Persero) supports the government's efforts to create clean and healthy air by encouraging the use of more environmentally friendly fuel.

Acting VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Heppy Wulansari, explained that the premium distribution policy is the government's authority. Pertamina is committed to educating consumers to use environmentally friendly and higher-quality fuel to improve vehicle performance.

"Pertamina is committed to encouraging the use of fuel with a higher RON because besides being good for the environment, it will also have a positive impact on vehicle engines and resulting in cleaner air," said Heppy.

In addition to education, continued Heppy, Pertamina also provided stimulus in the form of fuel promos to consumers, so they would be motivated to try better quality fuel and feel the impact on vehicle engines through the Langit Biru Program.

The Langit Biru Program, added Heppy, was carried out by Pertamina with the local government's support and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. It is carried out to respond to global demands and agendas to reduce motor vehicle emissions levels in line with the Paris Agreement, which stipulates a significant reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, which will take effect in 2020. 

"For the next year, the Langit Biru Program is expected to be implemented more widely so that air quality in Indonesia can be better," she said.
