Jakarta, September 14, 2021 – PT Pertamina (Persero) has many ways to help its fostered micro and small enterprises (MSEs) to rise and be adaptive to Covid-19. One of them is through the Pinky Movement entrepreneurship improvement program. Not only business funding, but Pertamina also invites fostered partners to enter the business chain through Creating Shared Value (CSV). In this way, Pertamina has directly supported employment and economic growth, implementing the Goal 8 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Acting Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, explained that from January to early September 2021, Pertamina had distributed financing and business capital through the Pinky Movement program to 162 outlets and 116 small businesses in Indonesia. In addition to funding, Pertamina also conducts several coaching programs for fostered partners to upgrade.
"The Pinky Movement program also provides added value to companies by involving small businesses in the form of LPG bases and small businesses using subsidized LPG to switch to non-subsidized LPG. Small-scale retail shop entrepreneurs, food entrepreneurs, livestock, and so on play a role in Bright Gas products usage. Therefore, this program can suppress the use of subsidized gas products that are not on target," explained Fajriyah
Coaching for MSEs includes many aspects. These include increasing the competence of MSEs, access to licensing or certification, expanding the MSE market, increasing MSE motivation by coaching MSEs, and awarding MSEs.
Why are small business subsidized LPG outlets in the culinary sector using subsidized LPG being targeted? Fajriyah explained this is following the initial purpose of this program being formed. Namely by emphasizing concrete efforts to reduce the burden of subsidies and be on target.
"So the opportunity for LPG outlet MSEs to develop their business is wide open by selling non-subsidized LPG. Also, MSEs using subsidized LPG who want to switch to using non-subsidized LPG can get more benefits by participating in this program," explained Fajriyah.
According to Fajriyah, through the Pinky Movement Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can move the economy--energy that fuels and energy that produce sustainable growth.
Pertamina also supports SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) achievements by implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all its operational areas. It is part of the Environmental and Social Responsibility (TJSL) to realize economic benefits in the community.
