Gianyar, Bali, June 15, 2022 – Together with the Puri Kauhan Ubud Foundation, PT Pertamina (Persero) continues its efforts to preserve the environment in the Land of the Gods, Bali, through the "Nyapuh Tirah Campuhan" Water Exaltation Program. The program launch was attended by the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Suharso Monoarfa, the Special Staff Coordinator of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Chairperson of the Puri Kauhan Ubud Foundation, AAGN Ari Dwipayana, with the Gianyar Regional Secretary, I Gede Made Wisnu Wijaya, and VP of CSR & SMEPP of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fajriyah Usman, held at Jaba Mandala Holy Temple Bangkiang Sidem, Keliki, Gianyar, Bali (14/6/2022).
In his speech, the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, appreciated this water exaltation program. According to him, in addition to reviving local culture by preserving Balinese cultural values in "Nyapuh Tirah Campuhan," this activity is also a tourist attraction that drives the regional economy.
"We want to revive and rebuild Bali as one of the hearts of Indonesian civilization. Not only preserving the culture because it has tourism value, but culture is also the country's wealth because there is the economic value that will bring prosperity to the local community," said Suharso.
He also advised that efforts to protect the local culture oriented towards environmental preservation, such as this water exaltation program, must be maintained because it contains education to the public not to waste the existing natural potential and take good care of it.
The same thing was emphasized by AAGN Ari Dwipayana, Chairperson of the Puri Kauhan Ubud Foundation, who is also the Coordinator of the Special Staff of the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
"The launching of the water exaltation program with the theme Nyapuh Tirah Campuhan carried out within the framework of the 2022 Saraswati Sewana Literature is a concrete step between the Puri Kauhan Ubud Foundation and Pertamina in efforts to care and conserve water. Whether we realize it or not, water is the source of human life, especially for Bali residents. By honoring water, we believe it is also a form of glorifying civilization," said Ari.
He also expressed his appreciation to Pertamina for contributing to this program. "Thank you to Pertamina and the Ministry of SOEs, who always support environmental conservation efforts," he said.
On the same occasion, Vice President of CSR & SMEPP of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fajriyah Usman, symbolically handed over plant seeds to the Representative of the Tourism Village Structuring Program Perbekel Representative.
"The Nyapuh Tirah Campuhan program in Gianyar will provide handling and training on temple waste, planting trees along rivers, training on medicinal plants, cleaning rivers and lightning along rivers, and revitalizing villages based on river conservation," added Fajriyah.
The 5,000 tree planting, which includes productive plants, rituals, and medicines, such as ivory coconut, banyan, cempaka, nutmeg, jackfruit, avocado, and others, will be carried out along the Oos River in Gianyar Regency, Bali.
Fajriyah also hopes that through this program, the community can participate in caring and making efforts to preserve the surrounding environment. Therefore, harmony between humans and nature can be achieved, especially in water conservation, which is the main need of the community.
Meanwhile, Acting Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Heppy Wulansari, said Pertamina's involvement in the "Nyapuh Tirah Campuhan" program was the company's commitment to developing community empowerment and environmental conservation programs based on local wisdom and culture.
