Jakarta, January 26, 2022 – Pertamina with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) of the Republic of Indonesia is upskilling West Nusa Tenggara MSMEs. This effort is to strengthen the supply chain of the tourism industry and the creative economy in the Mandalika Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP) while providing access to economic opportunities as an impact of the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit.
The Mandalika 2022 MotoGP world motorcycle racing tournament will soon be held. MSEs in West Nusa Tenggara are also expected to take part and feel the positive impact of the event.
Pertamina and Kemenparekraf held virtual training for the MSE Upskilling program. This activity was held before the Business Forum and Business Matching, which would later bring together MSEs with potential buyers, both among tourism industry players, such as hotels. In addition, armed with knowledge from this program, MSEs can also present products and services that are more prime to face consumers who will flock from various countries during and after the Mandalika MotoGP activity.
Aurelius Kuhuwael, Exclusive Facilitator from MarkPlus Institute, was appointed by Pertamina as a mentor and companion in the 2 (two) day activity. "The first day of training will be focused on studying business communication and negotiation techniques for MSEs," he said.
In his description, Aurelius emphasizes that MSEs can master smooth business communication techniques to influence consumers to buy their products. "This effective communication can build understanding, problem-solving, increase productivity, strengthen relationships with customers, and improve a good image," he said.
This briefing is essential because dozens of MSEs potential participants in the Business Forum will show their skills in attracting consumers directly during Business Matching activities. "The output is that MSEs can be more confident in promoting their products to various groups. It includes MotoGP fans from various parts of the world who will come to Indonesia," he added.
One of the training participants, Sayuk Wibawati, said she was happy to join the program. The owner of the Nutsafir Cookies business is also ready to welcome guests who will come to Lombok Island sometime in the future. "With the knowledge given in this training, it makes me more optimistic in communicating with my consumers in the future. Thank you, Pertamina," he said.
Vice President of Corporate Communications of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, ensures that the MSMEs fostered around the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit are ready to strengthen the supply chain for the tourism industry and the creative economy at DPSP Mandalika.
Through the PUMK Program, continued Fajriyah, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can move the economy--energy that fuels and energy that produces sustainable growth. Pertamina also encourages MSEs to go up to class and Go Global.
Pertamina continues to support SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) achievement through implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all its operational areas. It is part of the Environmental and Social Responsibility (TJSL) to realize economic benefits in the community.**
