IKN, July 27, 2024 - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), Pertamina's gas subholding, has conducted the first trial delivery of natural gas to a commercial customer, Hotel Nusantara, located in the National Capital (IKN). This initiative reflects PGN's commitment to supporting infrastructure development in the IKN area and enhancing the operational efficiency of Hotel Nusantara. PGN provides a combination of services through the beyond pipeline mode using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), which offers greater flexibility to accelerate IKN's development targets.
With the delivery, Hotel Nusantara can now use natural gas from PGN as the energy source for cooking activities. It allows the hotel to reduce the use of other fuels that may have a less favorable environmental impact.
Through reliable integrated infrastructure, PGN projects a monthly gas supply of 13,800 m³ to Hotel Nusantara. PGN ensures that future gas delivery processes will proceed safely and smoothly.
Hedi Hedianto, the General Manager Sales and Operation Region III PGN, hopes that the delivery of natural gas to Hotel Nusantara will facilitate the hotel's operational activities more effectively and efficiently. "Not only supporting the development of the hospitality industry in IKN but PGN also consistently supports the government's commitment to accelerating infrastructure development and providing the best facilities in IKN," said Hedi in his statement on Friday, July 26, 2024.
Herry Sukoco, Project Manager of Hotel Nusantara, appreciates PGN's support in providing natural gas in the IKN area. He mentioned that the hotel's operational activities often require gas, so PGN's support is a solution for meeting energy needs.
"We use materials supplied by Perusahaan Gas Negara here, especially for the kitchen area, which predominantly uses gas. The natural gas simplifies activities because we no longer face supply issues," said Herry.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that the Pertamina Group continues to optimize the use of natural gas to support a more environmentally friendly domestic industry.
"Natural gas is an essential and reliable energy source in the transition to clean energy in line with the NZE 2060 target," said Fadjar.
For information, PGN has contributed to the construction of IKN by preparing a 10.7 KM pipeline infrastructure installed for the Core Area of the Central Government (KIPP) 1A, with ongoing construction. This pipeline infrastructure is projected to meet the natural gas needs of 9,996 household connections (SR).
PGN consistently supports the government in undertaking development that can promote economic growth and public welfare across Indonesia, ensuring safety and the best service. Natural gas energy in the IKN area is part of these efforts.**
