Jakarta, September 15, 2021 – PT Pertamina (Persero) support for micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in the tourism sector continues. Under the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenkomarives), Pertamina also shares energy to generate economic growth in national tourism areas through the MSE Empowerment Program in around 5 Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP).
Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said that this support was manifested in the distribution of business capital assistance to MSEs to develop the economic potential around the 5 DPSP areas. "It is hoped that in addition to the tourism sector that continues to grow, small business actors around the area can also upgrade," she said.
Until 2021, Pertamina has distributed revolving capital assistance to 187 MSEs around the DPSP area. Fajriyah detailed that 56 MB was given to foster partners (MB) in the Lake Toba area, North Sumatra. Furthermore, in the area of Borobudur, Central Java 29 MB; Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara 57 MB; Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara 23 MB, and Likupang, North Sulawesi 22 MB.
One of the fostered partners who has received these benefits is Gunawan Kurnia Pribadi, the owner of Batik Gunawan Design. One of the MB from DPSP Borobudur is located in the Laweyanarea, Solo. In addition to producing batik, Gunawan also produces sarong goyor weaving.
In addition to getting capital assistance, Gunawan also received guidance from Pertamina to be included in the book PertaminaSME 1000 in 2021. "Hopefully, by becoming Pertamina's foster partner, my business will be able to develop more rapidly and as an effort to preserve the world's cultural heritage, namely batik," he said.
According to Fajriyah, through the PUMK Program, Pertaminawants to provide energy that can move the economy--energy that becomes fuel and energy that produce sustainable growth. Pertamina also supports SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) point 8 achievements related to employment provision and economic growth and implementing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) based programs throughout its operational area.**
