Pekanbaru, December 23, 2021 – PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) Rokan Working Area (WK) once again shows its commitment in supporting efforts to improve the quality of excellent human resources in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 through the PHR Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program in the Education field. On Wednesday (22/12) PHR WK Rokan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with five universities in Riau. Namely Universitas Riau, Universitas Islam Riau, Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim, Universitas Lancang Kuning, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding took place at the Novotel Hotel Pekanbaru and was carried out by the President Director of PHR, Jaffee A. Suardin, together with the Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Ir. Aras Mulyadi, M.Sc., Rector of Universitas Islam Riau, Prof. Dr. Syafrinaldi, S.H., M.C.L., Rector Universitas Lancang Kuning, Dr. Junaidi, M. Hum., Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau, Dr. Mubarak, M.Si., Rector of Universitas Islam negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim, Prof. Dr. Hairunas, M.Ag., witnessed by the Governor of Riau, Drs. H. Syamsuar, M.Si., and representatives from SKK Migas Representative of Sumbagut.
“The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding will be the basis for cooperation in implementing the TJSL program in 2022, which also involves other parties from various elements, including the Government, non-governmental organizations, as well as other related organizations and institutions. The focus of our partnership is to support the Government's flagship programs such as the Menara Vokasi and Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM),” said Jaffee A. Suardin.
The scope of the partnership and cooperation with these five universities include improving the quality of human resources by advancing education, teaching, research, community service, preparation and planning to improve the accreditation of Study Programs, and opening opportunities for students and teaching staff at universities to participate in PHR TJSL activities.
Meanwhile, on a different occasion, PHR has also signed a similar Memorandum of Understanding with Politeknik Bengkalis, Politeknik Caltex Riau (PCR), and Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Riau.
A number of other TJSL programs in the field of Education initiated by PHR WK Rokan include scholarship programs for Sakai Tribe students. This support aims to improve the quality of human resources and provide opportunities for indigenous Riau students to be able to compete in the world of work or be independent as entrepreneurs.**
